KR> KR2 world tour.

2016-09-02 Thread Mac McConnell-Wood
He flew from UK to Australia a couple of years ago...With his girlfriend !
His engine was a Jabiru I think.-had problems in Singapore but fixed it and
carried on.
Amazing bloke -met him 30 years ago when I was building mine -got his name
in my build diary so he must've made an impression.

KR> Landing Gear legs

2016-09-02 Thread Stef den Boer
Hi Stan,

We use the old type landing gear. It is all 7075T6 alluminium. 3 brackets aft of
the fwd spar. I think this one give you more propclearce.

I think the aluminium gear is more weight than the new glass system.

On my website you see 3 KR2s. The PH-OMI and the PH-MIJ uses the old aluminium.
The PH- KRS is using the new system. At the page flight controlls you see the 3
brackets.

Mike,I put all most ten hours taxi testing before my first flight. knowing how
it handles on the ground will make for a good landing.

I thought I had it sold but it seems that he backed out so I'm reposting it.
It's currently in storage in Henderson, NV just south-east of Las Vegas. I
would like to sell it as a package to someone wanting to get a little bit of a
head start and save money. I'm giving the list members first shot at this and
will wait a week before putting it on Barnstormers.

If I don't get any interest as a package I'll let individual parts go
separately. Please contact me off the list @ lvav8r at hotmail.com . The 14' x
4' construction table is included if wanted but would require a truck to move.

Just a little advice. ?Make sure you have a good set of wheels and brakes. ?Not
the cheap stuff. ?I made that mistake.

OK Guys, She passed with flying colors. After the FAA left I spent the rest of
the day getting comfortable with her and after the rain showers were over, did
a little taxi testing. Was able to get the tail wheel up without scaring myself
to bad. Now I've just got to grow a bigger pair. You see, when you fly a lot of
hours in a Cessna, You don't need them much so they shrink a little.

KR> First flight

2016-09-02 Thread Doran Jaffas
I concur with that. I did 10 or 12 on my Sonerai 2. When I came in over the
fence with oil on the windshield the landing configuration was familiar and
the resulting landing though blind in front was a good one. Get very
familiar with the ground cues.

Mike,

Don't spend too much time running around on the ground, that's the scary part!
Go FLY. It's an airplane, not a car. Everything checks out on the engine
etc,, go FLY.. Much safer in the air..
