KR> Gathering

2016-09-13 Thread Mark Langford
I got an email from a new member from the Michigan City, the
Michigan/Indiana border (KMGC). He can't make the Gathering, but
requests somebody in a KR drop in to visit him, as he plans to by a KR2
next week, and would like to sit in or fly in one. If interested, email
me and I'll send his phone number.

It does expand and contract with temperature
changes just not as much as standard atmosphere.

Everything you want to know about using nitrogen
in your tires can be found
at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=191

We often debate things on the net that can be
answered with a simple google search such as "why use nitrogen in tires".

There is more information available today at the
touch of a button than can be digested in a lifetime.

KR> Nitrogen

2016-09-13 Thread svd

Yea, If nitrogen does not expand with temperature, why doesn?t nitrogen conform
to the gas law pv=nrt? Is nitrogen an insulator?

Also - if nitrogen is useful because rubber is less permeable to it, wouldn?t
repeatedly filling
your low tire (after the 20% non-nitrogen leaked out) eventually drive the %
nitrogen up to nearly 100% - predicting the rate of pressure drop for your
tires (with air) will soon match nitrogen filled?

KR> On slime and nitrogen in tires.

It's remarkable that replacing the 20% of air that's not nitrogen with
actual nitrogen results in such an improvement in desirable properties for
the inflation of aircraft tyres.
