KR> Glue Joints not holding - T88
Wow! having built a minimax using t88 and working on varies other wooden projects I have never used anything other then the squeeze method. Yes i have broken a couple of joints but they always pull more wood then the glue. a but-joint doesn,t have any strength until you add a gusset. Its much harder to brake one of these joint. but not impossible. so the skin acts as a large gusset and makes the hole thing as strong as it can be. T 88 is some what of forgiving glue, I know I have ben off on the ratios before and it work every time, just try pulling the stick out of the cup after it hardens. LOL well I think if you don't put more stress on the joint then what it is intended for it will be fine. this is just my thoughts. KR> Where is everyone.
well you asked! I am currently working on my controls. I have the dual sitick about finished; just need to weld on the elevator control arm and limit travels. The rudder pedals are ready to be installed. I have the stab foam all shaped and waiting for warmer weather to do some glassing. I have the gear drilled but ordered the wrong size bolts - oops. Need to order the right size. I have some new pictures on the blog and will have more soon. The corvair is disassembled and waiting to go to the shop, but that won't be until next year. I hope to have the fuse completed by fall, less instruments. I would like to make the gathering 2008 with 0707KC. Keith Crawford Saint Johns MI mar...@simerson.net http://martha.simerson.net
KR> aluminum
Hi all I hate to revisit this topic but here it goes. I am to that point where I need that 1" x 4" x 1/8" inch 6061, I have called wicks, airccraft spruce, and all the local venders and nothing. What do I do next? I thought about bending my own but wick doesn't have a .125 6061 sheet "and thats the sheets!" Any suggestions?
