KR> Brake suggestions?

2008-10-12 Thread Dennis Dyer

I'm looking of suggestions for a brake replacement. There are presently "go
cart" type brakes on my KR. They just rub on one side of the rotor. I'd like
to replace them with something more reliable and firm. Thanks for any ideas.

Dennis,

I have Matco, but if I were choosing my brakes,(they came with the plane) I
would go for something really good, like Clevelands and use 5X5 wheels for
good grass capability. I know they are expensive, but a messed up plane is
a lot more expensive.

Dennis:

I am inthe process of installing bthe Great Plains system and their calipers
have a piston on one side but pads on both. The creativity comes into play
with the toe prkes.

Hi Dennis,
I bought my brakes from Tracy O'Brien. They are of excellent quality and
reasonably priced. They fit fairly flush in the special wheels he sells with
them. He is very helpful if you call him or email him. You might want to
check these out in your search for replacements.

This is very common, both in autos and motorcycles. You just have to
make sure the slider mechanism works freely, or that will cause
problems. Higher-end systems more often use pistons on both sides of
the disk.

Sorry, but I don't have a clue what those are ;-)
