KR> best replacement windsock?
My airpark has lights with regular house type sockets in them. We use the twisty flourescent bulbs in them, but no reason we could not use home type LED bulbs. I changed to all Cree LED bulbs in my house and I love them. Original Message Subject: KR> best replacement windsock? So...can anybody recommend one that you're happy with? Right now I'm thinking I'll try US-made "Windtek" next. Also, I was visiting our local county jetport the other day and commenting on awesome their new LED runway light system was, and light maintenance came up. I maintain the runway lights at M38, and they are something like 60 years old, and it shows. I asked what did they do with the old ones and he said they gave them all away to other airports. So...if anybody knows of an airport that's about to upgrade from their "stake mounted" system to new LED stuff, please let me know. We'd be interested in a box or two of light fixtures... I buy the windsocks for our Lincoln , Missouri Municipal Airport , at Sky Ox ( 1-800-253-0800 ) . Excellent service and great value & price ! I think they are made in USA -( no tags on them ). I have found if you treat them inside and out with Armor- all , they stand the sun better .
