Public bug reported: I tried kubuntu FL7 on my laptop, a panasonic centrino 1.4 with intel 2100 wireless, it hangs just after logging into the desktop in live mode, from then i can move the mouse but can't do anything more than that, can't click, can't even reboot, ctrl-alt-canc has no effect. [Bug 30447] Kubuntu and ATI: restart/shutdown problem
Hey folks, Any news on this? The only thing I can add is that I was using Ubuntu (Gnome) and I don't have this problem there. It seems to be a problem with KDE and ATI. I just switched back to Kubuntu and I'm surprised to see that the problem persists. As mentioned above, using a different driver avoids this issue. Also, I don't have the problem if I try to restart/shutdown from KDM. It only happens in a logged-in account (I've also tried creating new ones or even reinstalling Kubuntu, for that matter). I think we should fix this for the upcoming release, it's really annoying to see the computer crashing all the time. Again, I would be happy to provide any relevant information. I can also confirm this bug. Dapper (updated), KDE 3.5.2 and Kopete 0.11.1 It doesn't always happen, but i can say too much times. I try to press "ctrl+esc" to kill it fom the ksysguard, but it doen't run, i need to run ksysguard from the K menu I don't know how could i get the error messages. [Bug 45985] Kmail crashes and halts for prolonged time, when moving messages.
Public bug reported: Ubuntu Dapper, Kde 3.5.2-ubuntu35, and ubuntu34 If I delete an email, It will halt and freeze up for a good 30 to 40 seconds before the email ends up in the trash. If I click "move to" on another email and move it to another folder it will freeze up again for a good 30/40 seconds. My system resources are barley used. It's only Kmail that's running sluggishly. I originally thought that maybe my index files where broken so I deleted them and allowed Kmail to re-create them. This seemed to work until I got new emails. Kmail also crashes every second or third execute, with the standard "ERROR: Communication problem with Kmail, it probably crashed."
