[Bug 120797] Error when copying some files from an ext3 partition to fat32 using konqueror

2007-06-17 Thread Vivien Taillandier
Public bug reported:

Here is a sumup of the bug.

My home folder is located on an ext3 partition, and the partition where
I try to copy the files is fat32.

When I try to copy this folder :
/home/vivien/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/.inbox.directory/.My
friends.directory/N.Fréd/cur
I get an error message telling me that writing on the partition is impossible
with the name of the file.

To be able to copy this folder, I create an archive, I copy it on my
fat32 partition and decompress it.

I had the same bug with folders containing subfolders and files with
special characters, without any hidden files or folders.

Test made on Kubuntu Feisty

This /bug/ might just be a translation issue. Please try starting Amarok from a
terminal with
`KDE_LANG=en_US amarok`
which will start Amarok in the default language, also please report whether
it's working or nor.

[Bug 120824] When installing ktorrent-dbgsym, adept wants to install gnome packages

2007-06-17 Thread agrabah
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I don't really know if it's adepts fault, or if the ktorrent-dbgsym package is
faulty.
Anyway: I wanted to install ktorrent-dbgsym from
http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs repository, and adept says the commit
would break packages. I wondered why, because package info states it requires
only ktorrent, and indicated no conflicts. I then discovered adept wants to
install a whole bunch of other packages (not required ones - see the appended
picture), together 24 packages. I didn't even try to commit changes.

Steps to recreate:
1. start adept
2. add aforementioned repository
3. pick ktorrent-dbgsym
4. click install
5. see preview changes

This let it happen on my box, which is Kubuntu Feisty (up to date as per
regular updates), KDE 3.5.7.

Cheers,
Tine

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aptitude show ktorrent-dbgsym | grep Depends
Depends: ktorrent (= 2.2~rc1-0ubuntu1)

So it doesn't seem to be a dbgsym issue...
That's in Gutsy, if you're in Gutsy, please run that command, and put here the
output.

Also, did you have ktorrent installed before installing the -dbgsym
package?

[Bug 120832] can't drag'n'drop music files on amarok tray icon

2007-06-17 Thread Martin Kossick
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

Hi.
I'm using gnome + Amarok.
Since I upgraded to Feisty,
dropping mp3 and ogg-files on the amarok icon in the tray doesn't work.

Until edgy, it appeared a menu where I had the possibility to choose between
play/enqenue etc.
Now, in the panel beside a new icon is created, with an red cross in it.

[Bug 120824] Re: When installing ktorrent-dbgsym, adept wants to install gnome packages

2007-06-17 Thread agrabah
Yes, I did have ktorrent installed. And I'm not in Gutsy, I'm running Feisty.
Anyway, I ran the command (just in case) and I did
get a similar, but not quite identical output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aptitude show ktorrent-dbgsym | grep Depends
Depends: ktorrent (= 2.1-0ubuntu2)

Interlude... (I decided to check the behavior of adept when installing
other stuff)

Uh-oh. Happens with other packages too.

When I tried to install adept-manager-dbgsym in apt-get, I told me the
commit would break packages, too, because a newer version of adept-
manager is required. I guess I understand what you meant by That's in
Gutsy - those dbgsym packages are probably for Gutsy, Right?

Now I think it happens only with dbgsym packages which are meant for
Gutsy (or require a newer version of its mother package than Feisty
repositories provides). I could find only two - Adept-manager-dbgsym and
ktorrent-dbgsym. It tells me the commit would break packages; and when I
pick undo, 23 packages (on the picture-list) are automagically added to
the instalation queue.

Anyway - This problem started today (maybe after I installed KDE 3.5.7;
I'm not sure). It could be an issue on my machine, but I don't really
know how to check. Oddly enough adept always starts with an empty
instalation queue.

[Bug 109507] Re: xorg eat 100% of the CPU when I use superkaramba and lock my desktop for a while ([apport] Xorg crashed with signal 5)

2007-06-17 Thread nukedathlonman
Strange, but I can add further verification of this bug... With
superkaramba loaded, Xorg would ramp up to 100% usage over 30 minutes
when my laptop was left to idle. 15 minutes after it reach top speed it
the system would crash if I did anything except kill Xorg. I hadn't
experienced this before upgrading to Feisty, and was experiencing it
thereafter. I was sure I must have had something mis-configured (I had
made a lot of video and screen related changes to play with dual head
operation, my HDTV just prior to the upgrade). After endless debugging
I gave up trying to solve the issue, and reported it under bug 51991
because it resembled everything I could debug. Even top wasn't showing
superkaramba as eating up the CPU cycles, just Xorg. After reading this
bug report, I decided to try unloading superkarama, and low and behold,
the problem has completely disappeared. Thanks for the reporting, I
never would have thought of this - hope this bug can be fixed!!
