[Bug 314164] Re: KDE4.2 beta panel is unable to sort icons
Hello Bruno! Thank you for reporting this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better! Could you please tell us if Dan's suggestion has solved your issue? [Bug 323908] Re: Okular crashes while starting the presentation mode
Hello, I can confirm your bug (desktop effects ON, intel card) on intrepid with 4.2 packages. Could you please try to REMOVE the costum okular rule in kwin settings? To do so: - Close okular - Open System Settings - Click on Window behaviour - Click on Window-Specific - You'll see a list: look for okular, select it, click on remove and then Apply. - Open okular and try again presentation mode Is the crash fixed? -- Okular crashes while starting the presentation mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323908 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdegraphics in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 327199] [NEW] (KDE) Fullscreen applications flickering with effects ON
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kwin Desktop effects are ON by default in kde4 since 4.2 and in kubuntu since intrepid with kde 4.1. This means that they have to work with the rest of the desktop, without giving, too many headaches, at least on supported cards. This is IMHO not the case (yet). The issue I'll mention here happens with EVERY APPLICATION in fullscreen mode, under kde4 (for example gwenview presentation mode, konqueror fullscreen mode and so on) Basically, when using a fullscreen app, the screen flickers as a mad and makes the experience really unpolished and bad. In some cases, with some video cards (like my intel gma 950), this brings to crashes (okular presentation mode). Basically, kwin unredirects fullscreen windows to improve the performance, but the side effects of this are way bigger than benefits. How to resolve the problem: - open with your favourite editor this configuration file: .kde/share/config/kwinrc -under [Compositing] section add: UnredirectFullscreen=false - If you have no [Compositing] section create it, on the top of the config file, and then add the option under it. - save and exit - Press ALT+F2 to open krunner, then write into it: kwin --replace - No flickering/crashes anymore! ;) I think this should go in jaunty as default! ** Affects: kdebase-workspace (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- (KDE) Fullscreen applications flickering with effects ON https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 322385] [NEW] solid blue rectangle(sbr) covering some icons in task bar
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The task bar is absolutely correct until I attempt to use mail, and only if I use new/write, reply, reply all, or forward do I get the following symptoms. While I am creating the body of the mail message, some or all of the icons are covered with solid blue rectangles, each will clear momentarily when I run the cursor over it. The sbr does not interfere with the functionality of the icon, I just have to remember where the icon I want is hidden. The worst task bar mess happens when I'm replying to kubuntu-users-request! When I hit send, the task bar sbrs settle down a bit and only blank out one or two icons, usually kmix and eth0 There are no sbr problems at the moment because I haven't sent any mail since I booted up. I thought it might be Thunderbird causing the problem, so I set up KMail and used that, no difference, still the same symptoms. So I thought the problem might be with the SMTP. But I got a similar problem when I logged into my ISP account and sent mail from there. This is as far as I've got, hope you can help. I'm running kubuntu intrepid 8.10 with KDE 4.1.3 on a 64bit AMD Sempron ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- solid blue rectangle(sbr) covering some icons in task bar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322385 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 323433] Re: Jaunty Thinkpad fn-f7 does nothing (should toggle video)
Those patches also needed a kdebase-workspace patch that is no longer applied to KDE. (We had the kdebase-workspace patch in 8,10 for randr support, but removed it in Jaunty since it introduced some severe bugs.)
