Same here (jaunty 64-bit, kdevelop 3.5.3 and libtool 2.2.6) and I just
can't make it work, damn it. It's really frustrating. Has anyone got it
to work?

Thanks for reporting this Bug and making Kubuntu better.
Unfortunately libxine1-ffmpeg cannot be in a default installation due to it's
license. Amarok should offer to install this extra package and you can easily
install these restricted extras with the package kubuntu-restricted-extras.

I am closing this bug as invalid.

[Bug 334122] Re: Mobile broadband connections fail to connect

2009-09-18 Thread Flemming Bjerke
Well, after all, knetworkmanager turned out to be unstable on the Huawei
e220, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. And this is, true eth0 and
wlan0 as well! Moreover, kde displayed other bad sides, such as blurred
wifi-icon, unstable touchpad features, overload. So, eventually, I
installed ubuntu. Now the networksmanager works resonable well. On a
lenovo z60t, kubuntu could not come on wan though lan was all right. In
ubuntu, the lenova was on wan immediately. Kubuntus networkmanaging GUIs
are not too good (for these two laptops).

[Bug 432756] [NEW] krandrtray can't rotate screen

2009-09-18 Thread Bipolar
Public bug reported:

Video Card:
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G86 [GeForce 8500 GT]
(rev a1)

When attempting to set the screen rotation with krandrtray to 'left' or
'right' I get no change. The only one that works is 'upside-down' and
back to 'no rotation'. The only output on the terminal is:

findServiceByDesktopPath: randr not found
findServiceByDesktopPath: nvidiadisplay not found
findServiceByDesktopPath: nvidia3d not found
findServiceByDesktopPath: kgamma not found
findServiceByDesktopPath: energy not found

using the command 'xrandr -o left' works as expected.

I'm using the nvidia driver package: nvidia-glx-185

[Bug 420086] Re: kdm crashed with SIGSEGV in vfprintf()

2009-09-18 Thread Jonathan Thomas
Thinkfinger is dead (no upstream activity for 2 years) and has been
removed from Debian, which means that it will probably be removed from
Ubuntu in coming releases. There hasn't really been any maintenance of
the current KDM thinkfinger plugin from the KDE side at all either, and
currently it's pretty broken. For these reasons there's a very low
likelihood of this being fixed. Though as you said, this won't really be
hurting anybody. (and people won't even notice after apport crash
detection is turned off for the final release.)

Thanks for the bug report all the same, and have a nice day.

[Bug 415482] Re: KDM Log Out = Blank Screen

2009-09-18 Thread Jonathan Thomas
There have been issues with X crashing upon log out. To properly triage
this, the Ubuntu X team would need a copy of /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old and
a copy of the output of the command lspci -vvnn attached to the bug.
(Preferably you could test from Kubuntu 9.10, to see if it still happens
with the new drivers)

As a separate issue, KDM doesn't restart X on these logout crashes,
leaving you with the blank screen symptom: bug 432521.
