[Bug 831951] [NEW] Fix application requests when launched from CLI or Konsole
Public bug reported: When launching Kpackagekit from the terminal (Konsole or other CLI), errors are noticed which suggest that the application requires repairing or is attempting to do things which it shouldn't be doing, like asking to unregister timers which it doesn't even use. Purely to get this fixed or clarified, I'm filing this with a copy of the output from konsole received during and after closing the program. This is a shorter output, longer ones have been seen, usually when Kpackagekit has installed or removed programs from the system. ***Output below*** thor@Hunter-WizBit:~$ kpackagekit thor@Hunter-WizBit:~$ Application asked to unregister timer 0x5407 which is not registered in this thread. Fix application. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! ** Tags added: hardware-error ** Changed in: kde4libs (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde4libs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792675 Title: package libkdecore5 4:4.5.5-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: lectura insuficiente en buffer_copy para error en dpkg-deb durante `./usr/lib/libkdecore.so.5.6.0' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde4libs/+bug/792675/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
