[Bug 1451728]
If Ubuntu wants their "critical" bug fixed, they make kaccounts- providers conflict with account-plugins. The fact they are refusing to do so is insane, because the whole reason this is a problem in the first place is that apps using accounts-sso will produce duplicate account configuration options if we have duplicates in the profiles dir. This is the most "not KDE's problem" of any problem ever. We're using an Intel framework for accounts management the way it is intended, as are Canonical, and by design when two messaging providers provide the same service they should conflict one another rather than provide redundant entries that mess up the GUIs. How is the practicality of adding a KDE specific tag to our provider files and then renaming them with a prefix? I can go dig into the kaccounts-integration code and see if its possible. That doesn't solve the implementation and design problem around accounts-sso that a user of accounts should be loading all the providers it finds to allow third parties to provide account support, but I'm pretty sure we all know nobody is ever going to do that with the state accounts-sso and telepathy are in. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Kubuntu PPA. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1451728 Title: [master] kde-config-telepathy-accounts package install error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1451728/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

For me, also only en_US is preselected, and once I select my username and begin typing, it automatically switches to de_DE including the correct flag. Although I don't have some german special characters, I'll check again for the keyboard layout. Do you have either /etc/locale.conf /etc/vconsole.conf or something in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ ? That might be yet another "old cauldron" issue, Colin did implement some stuff with localectl AFAIU, so maybe sddm works fine on new installs of Mageia 5 beta 3. I'll check that in a VM. Since this only happens in a multi-desktop environment of any flavour conflicting with kubuntu-desktop and vice-versa Kubuntu with additional DE's – it puts the APT-packing system in a unresponsive state. This bug hinders users to to keep their system in an actual state with all security-patches installed. I pass it on to Ubuntus Security-Department for further investigation and immediate action on this grave bug. A possible workaround would be to replace Telepathy (IRC chat client) with Konversation or Quassel. Taking into account that the ration of bugs beeing reported reported and suffered is approx 1:100 this puts a very bad image on Ubuntu and Linux in a whole. [Bug 1388538] Re: Ark fails to produce zip archive instead making gzip with the zip suffix
Hello, I just wanted to say that there is an easy workaround for this bug in 14.04 LTS. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35371#c98 The resulting line in that file would be: MimeType=application/x-java-archive;application/zip; As Mahendra Tallur says here above, so important bugs should be fixed in an LTS release. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of LTS itself: isn't LTS supposed to receive bugfix-only updates? This is indeed a bugfix. Anyway, I don't exactly understand what Flames_in_Paradise meant to say. I'd be curious to understand why the patch (successfully implemented in the following releases) isn't being backported to 14.04.
