[Bug 1581213] [NEW] xembedsniproxy fails bad with java apps (jitsi)
Public bug reported: Plasma 5.5 should provide support for applications using the older xembed systemtray protocol. Unfortunately, this does not still work as it should. Java apps and specifically jitsi (a voip application) fail to provide a working systemtray icon with xembedsniproxy. At times the icon appears, at times it does not and even when it appears it is non-functional (i.e. clicking on it does not open any menu). Jitsi reports that the systemtray did not initialize. The issue may be due to the fact that the xembedsniproxy crashes quite often. [Bug 1580343] Re: Packages menu and menu-xdg are missing on fresh 16.04 Kubuntu installation
Thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make Kubuntu better. But.. this is intentional. We never shipped the debian menu packages (or at least we haven't in a long time) as KDE has it's own application menu that follows the Freedesktop specification for .desktop entries. If newly installed applications that ship a .desktop file don't appear in kickoff, then something might be going wrong with the application cache update there. If that issue persists, please file another bug and name the missing applications so we can investigate the problem further. The reason why I'm marking this bug as Won't Fix though, is that Debian decided to deprecate 'menu' and it will cease to exist in the future, see [1] for more information. [Bug 1451728] Re: [master] kde-config-telepathy-accounts package install error
Hi Robert, this bug will definitely be fixed in the LTS 16.04, in a future update. If you are using the Kubuntu PPA Scarlett has mentioned before and you still get installation errors, the bug you want to follow is bug 1565772 (which is also a candidate for being fixed as an LTS update). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Kubuntu PPA. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1451728 Title: [master] kde-config-telepathy-accounts package install error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/1451728/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
