a hang during key generation is often due to lack of entropy on the
system. Can you ensure that the system isn't entropy-starved somehow?

[Bug 1656406] [NEW] text from gnupg finding its way into cyphertext when encrypting with many keys

2017-01-13 Thread themusicgod1
Public bug reported:

1) start kgpg
2) start editor (file->open editor)
3) type something in text field
4) click on 'encrypt'
5) options
6) uncheck allow encryption with untrusted keys
7) recheck allow encryption with untrusted keys
8) select 14+ keys including at least two of your own, which you have the
password for one of them.
9) click ok to encrypt
10) now copy this message somewhere and go back to a clean editor.
11) paste the cyphertext into new editor window
12) click on 'decyrpt'

result:
"Decryption failed" Details:
[GNUPG:] NODATA 3

AND AND AND

intermixed in the cyphertext, somewhere in the middle of the cyphertext amidst
the base64 or whatever data: is
[GNUPG:] BEGIN_ENCRYPTION 2 7
[GNUPG:] BEGIN_ENCRYPTION 2 7

somehow this got its way *INTO* the cyphertext when it's just output
from gnupg that is *not* cyphertext

The more keys you add the more likely this message seems to finds its
way into the cyphertext.

[Bug 1656395] [NEW] total list not showing up when untrusted key checkbox checked

2017-01-13 Thread themusicgod1
Public bug reported:

1) open kgpg
2) open editor
3) type something in
4) hit 'encrypt'

have Kgpg configured to allow to encrypt to untrusted keys

5) notice that the list that is populated there is ONLY trusted keys, even
though the checkbox
"allow encryption with untrusted keys" is checked

6) uncheck "allow encryption with untrusted keys" checkbox
7) recheck "allow encryption with untrusted keys" checkbox

notice the list populates correctly now.

You shouldn't have to toggle that checkbox. It should populate the list
upon opening of the 'encrypt' window

[Bug 1656392] [NEW] allow adding people to existing groups

2017-01-13 Thread themusicgod1
Public bug reported:

kgpg: 4:16.04.3-0ubuntu1

Current process to add someone to a new group seems to be to delete the
existing group, go through the list of 1000s of keys to find the ones that were
in the group(don't forget any!) and then create a new group. Or maybe to
create a new group using the existing group as a template?

Either way adding people to a group needs to be much easier or people
aren't going to want to do it. "add to group" should be an option on the
right click menu for groups

[Bug 1655774] Re: kcharselect segfaults on yakkety with kubuntu backports

2017-01-13 Thread Sergio Callegari
Bug has been identified by the KDE developers to be due to the qt
accessibility support via qt at-spi integration.

According to the KDE developers, kubuntu is the main/sole user of this
technology among major distros shipping KDE, which is why the issue is
not reproducible by them who do not have the at-spi integration in their
qt libraries.

[Bug 1656218] [NEW] QT4 apps fail with symbol lookup error

2017-01-13 Thread Jochen Schroeder
Public bug reported:

Running 16.10 several Qt4 apps fail for me with symbol lookup errors.

Two examples are:
$ kcachegrind
kcachegrind: symbol lookup error: kcachegrind: undefined symbol:

$ python -m pyqtgraph

ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PyQt4/QtGui.x86_64-linux-gnu.so:

I suspect this applies to many more qt4 packages (and I've found several
similar bugs, e.g. #1534421).

Some googling seems to indicate that this due to a version mismatch?
