[Bug 37246] Re: Unable to browse web with Konqueror
I'm a bit at lost there. It doesn't seem to be related to the http protocol handler. The package kdelibs-data owns many of the file related to association and protocol handlers. You could try to reinstall it: apt-get install --reinstall kdelibs-data Another thing to try, but that I wouldn't blame you not to want to try, is to put your current KDE settings out of the way. Change the name of the directory ~/.kde to ~/.kde.backup or something like that. That way, KDE will restart anew and you will be able to see if something is broken in your settings or not. If that doesn't work, another interesting directory to look into is ~/.local, which includes some local MIME types and desktop files. Althought I would like to help you solve your problem, this is begining to look not like a bug but like a support issue. I'll be waiting for news before closing the bug. -- Unable to browse web with Konqueror https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37246 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 32159] system:// protocol
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32159 Comment: This is definitely confirmed, and I agree that it should not happen. I'm not sure what is the source of the problem but, for usability, #1 and #2 should not happen. in the first case, the problem is obvious: GTK apps don't support kio- slaves. I could not reproduce the problems stated in #2, but it seems that some KDE applications will have problems. kmplayer itself did not work, understandably, when launched in a window. When using Preview in embedded..., it worked fine. Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/32159 Comment: Update already. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117395 This is a bug with .deskopt of the associated application. If you change %U to %f in the launch options, it fixes most, if not all, problems. The problem now is that if you replace %U with %f everywhere, that means the stated #2 problem will happen more since KDE will copy files to a temporary directory. The solution would probably be to use X-KDE-Protocols more in .desktop files. This is a bit beyond me now.
