You haven't actually disabled it yet, or the radeon driver wouldn't be
working. But yeah, better make sure it won't actually get disabled.

The Xorg log file is still from the modesetting driver, not the radeon

the information corresponding to the problem. You may need to get the
Xorg.*.log.old file.

Never mind, just installing xserver-xorg-video-radeon should be enough.

I found the following issue reported in the kdevelop tracker (see

Some additional info:

I found the following package: kde-config-qt-graphicssystem
and tried to configure the setting using it by running kcmshell4
qt-graphicssystem

It only provides three options. None of which are native. It did *not*
work! On the other hand, setting the env. variable as suggested by Frank

[Bug 24576] Re: konsole does not find Linux font

2006-06-08 Thread Michel D'HOOGE
If you open /usr/share/doc/konsole/README.Debian, you'll read:

Formerly, the few bitmap fonts KDE included, designed for use with Konsole,
were shipped as part of the xfonts-konsole package. However, as Konsole no
longer uses these fonts by default, and most users no longer use bitmap
fonts at all, KDE now includes these fonts with Konsole itself, and Debian
has followed this practice, including the fonts in the konsole package, and
eliminating the xfonts-konsole package entirely.

To make use of these legacy fonts, start Konsole, and under Settings -- Font
select Install Bitmap This will allow you to copy the legacy Konsole
fonts to $HOME/.fonts, where, after restarting KDE, all applications run by
that user, including Konsole, will be able to find them. Also make sure that
fontconfig is configured to allow the use of bitmap fonts. If you're not sure,
run, as root, 'dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig' from Konsole.

This seems to be still accurate at the time of writing...

[Bug 47649] Landscape PDF printed as portrait (and truncated)

2006-05-31 Thread Michel D'HOOGE
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kpdf

I discover that some PDFs created with landscape orientation (for
instance, all from open office) are wrongly printed with a portrait
orientation.

I printed the same web page both with konqueror and OOo as a landscape
PDF and noticed the following differences:

PDF from konqueror (kprint):
- icon preview is turned counter-clock wise.
- kpdf displays it correctly as landscape
- in Print/properties dialog box, orientation selection is portrait
- in print preview, everything looks fine

PDF from Open Office:
- icon preview is in landscape orientation.
- kpdf displays it correctly as landscape
- in Print/properties dialog box, orientation selection is grayed, with
landscape selected
- in print preview, page is in portrait mode, while content is still
landscape-oriented

I can provide both PDFs as needed.

Now, we have two problems. First one is to determine how kmail reaches this
state (which could lead to another bug report). Second one, which is of more
interest for you, is how you can recover your data! A quick look into google

guess you speak better than me.

I think we can close this bug. Maybe you'd want to create a new one

not so frequent (hopefully).

[Bug 44007] Re: KDVI doesn't have PageUp configured.

2006-05-12 Thread Michel D'HOOGE
After a quick look at the KDVI package it seems shortcuts are absolutely
not defined in each package: this is something orthogonal to all
applications.

So can you have a look into KDE Control Center, Regional
accessibility, Keyboard shortcuts. The 3rd tab (application shortcuts)
is where all default shortcuts for KDE are defined. Here you should have
PgUp and PgDn defined. You can try to change your scheme.

As a last resort, could you try to create a new user and check whether
the problem remains.

[Bug 5346] Kaffeine crashes konqueror when trying to play embedded movies

2006-02-17 Thread Michel Favreau
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/5346

Comment:
I can't agree with you because, as said before, this happens with the
regular kubuntu breezy live-cd which doesn't implement neither mozilla
nor kaffeine-mozilla.

[Bug 5346] Kaffeine crashes konqueror when trying to play embedded movies

2006-02-06 Thread Michel Favreau
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/5346

Comment:
Same problem. Crash whenever rightclicking on a video file (any type) in
Konqueror and selecting preview with GstreamerPart.

Kubuntu breezy fresh install.

Also on Dapper Flight CD 3 Live.

Seems to me the same bug as # 24568.
