Well, let me revise the recommendation.

The openoffice.org package should implement alternatives for the splash
image (i.e. no new packages or anything, just use the alternatives
system). That way Kubuntu or any other distribution which chooses to
give OpenOffice.org a custom branded splash can do this via the
alternatives system.

Agreed, though I don't think we can override this in the kubuntu-
default-settings, so I am moving the bug to openoffice.org.

Eventually the openoffice.org package should provide 3 branding (sun,
kubuntu, ubuntu) packages, this would probably also improve brandibility
for derivates in general.

I am open to suggestions on how to do that without introducing new
packages as well though :)
