[Bug 1404581] [NEW] Missing debugging symbols for kosnole

2014-12-20 Thread Javier
Public bug reported:

I'm currently running Kubuntu 15.04 updated with proposed repositories.

Konsole sometimes crashes (already reported that
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341818), however since an update on
the 15th the crash reporting assistant is unable to generate a useful
backtraces even though I have the konsole-dgb package installed. And
also the assistant says that the debug symbols need to be installed, but
is unable to install them (doesn't find the package or at least it
doesn't suggest the installation of any).

Today I have also suffered this crash on exit and again could not get a
viable backtrace.

Right now the only info the crash gives is:
Application: Konsole (konsole), signal: Segmentation fault

** Affects: konsole (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1404581] Re: Missing debugging symbols for kosnole

2014-12-30 Thread Javier
Hi,

what exactly means that the proposed on Vivid are not supported?, I know
is the development version and I'm aware of it's alpha 1 state.

Regarding the bug, I have seen you link, but even though that probably
works it does not resolve this bug; the problem is that the KDE
reporting tool is unable to find a package with suitable debug symbols
for konsole; even with konsole-dbg installed.

[Bug 1059827] Re: Non trivial grub2 installs no longer fit in small embed areas

2017-07-16 Thread Javier Segura
I finally upgraded my 12.04LTS server to 14.04LTS last week, and I
really regret having done this. I am suprised this bug is considered as
unimportant, when it completelly spoils the booting system. Nothing
seems to work.

[Bug 1059827] Re: Non trivial grub2 installs no longer fit in small embed areas

2017-07-17 Thread Javier Segura
@Arie: thank you, but I hoped that a software issue could be resolved without
the need of
additional hardware (I don't have a bigger drive right now). But I can survive:
I can boot
from a live USB with Super Grub2. Anyway, I think that such gross errors should
not
take place in an upgrade. This makes me wonder whether Ubuntu is a good choice,
particularly
when this type of bugs are not considered as important.

No, I am complaining about the fact that I had a perfectly working
ubuntu server which stopped booting after upgrading. That is a bad thing
for an operating system. This should not happen.

[Bug 60448] Re: .xsession-errors file grows out of control & saturates disk space

2014-07-10 Thread Javier P.L.
I became affected by this bug after passing control to /etc/X11/Xsession
from ~/.xinitrc with Slim as login manager, since I barely log
out/reboot I started looking for a way to fix it and I found a quite
clean way to do it in this post:

http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-edu@lists.debian.org/msg14226.html

By creating a /etc/Xsession.d/05noerrfile file.

I think it should be considered to be the default behavior.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, slim, i3.

[Bug 348275] Re: [iwlagn] networkmanager applet cannot connect to WPA2 home network. Neither can WICD.

2009-05-04 Thread Javier Jardón
Hello,

I'm the reporter of the bug, and I'd like update the information.

I installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty in Ubuntu and in Kubuntu.

Now I have other Fonera to test (2100 model) configured with WPA2 . After some
test here the results:
 - I _always_ can connect to the LaFonera 2100 without any problem
 - I can connect to LaFonera 2200 _sometimes_ and only if It is the first
connection when I turn on the computer. If I change to other wireless network
and then I want to connect to the LaFonera I can't

A problem between the drivers and the chip of LaFonera 2200? Maybe, but
I could connect without any problem in Intrepid.
