Re: Kubuntu Council Elections 2014 - Call for Nominations

2014-05-22 Thread Jonathan Riddell
I'd like to put myself forward for the Kubuntu council again. Over the
last two years I've worked hard to keep Kubuntu thriving despite the
stepping back of our primary sponsor. We continue to have significant
technical and political challenges but I'm now more confident of our future
than I have been for the last couple of years.

I'm mindful that we have fewer new contributors than we have in the past
and I'd like to spend some effort over the next year to try to fix that.

Although I've been involved with Kubuntu since the start and a member of
the council since we started it nothing would make me prouder than to be
out-voted and have more fresh talent as part of it.

Re: Kubuntu Council Elections 2014 - Call for Nominations

2014-05-22 Thread Jonathan Riddell
I'd like to nominate Myriam Schweingruber, she's well known around the
Kubuntu and KDE communities and stays on IRC as Mamarok. For many years
she has kept an eye on our kubuntu-users mailing list, answering queries
and keeping the discussion sane. She's been around Kubuntu for about as
long as anyone. She'd make a community focused addition and has agreed to
be nominated.

I'd also like to nominate Arthur Schiwon.

Arthur has been around Kubuntu for many years as well and helps to promote
it at fairs in Germany and is an active member of our most active loco
group, kubuntu-de.
