shadeslayer was working on this. I know it is not working that way now. It
suppose to :) i.e i am
only connected via wireless and i don't even have a RJ45 cable at home, so wifi
is really a need.
Ubuntu has it, we need too. :)
I will work on the slideshows too. The current one suck :D

You can get wifi setup at install time by selecting Try Kubuntu,
setup

your network connection, then start the installer.

Since feature-freeze is on March 7th, I am not confident configuring
wifi from within the installer can be done in time for Raring.

It suppose to be done times ago. More advanced users already know, that you can
connect while
trying kubuntu. New users don't. Hope somebody will do it anyway ;)

The gtk front end already has this. Since this is something it would be easy
to disable (drop the new u/i), I would certainly entertain an FFe request if it
was only going to miss feature freeze by a little.

 We should support 1024 X 576. Trying to support 800 X 480 would require a
lot of redesign. Also, when I looked into it, systems that small are
designed with local screen features that allow you pan around a larger
display so you can manage with things designed for larger screens (i.e.
 everything).

OK, let's define 1024x576 as the minimum resolution then. This means I can
remove some eeepc-resolution-specific code. I just filed a first merge request
for this work
(https://code.launchpad.net/~agateau/ubiquity/layout-refresh/+merge/150117)

It's definitely not finished though. It currently looks like this:

Great you want to work on it. The static layout is problematic for the
problems you've seen so I'm all for fixing that. Keep in mind it needs to
work on netbook sized screens and that the bling is always appreciated.
Deadline for new features is March 7th so get it in before then and fix the
 bugs after.
