Might be the English descriptions for Calc

partially, from German.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Function IRR description

2013-07-20 Thread Sérgio Marques
Acturial value is mostly used in finance and insurance.

Actuarial value is a measure of the percentage of expected health care
costs a specific health plan will cover for the "standard" population.
Actuarial value is generally calculated using the ratio of:

*the total expected payments by the plan for essential health benefits*
*__ *

*the total expected costs of the "standard" population for essential health
benefits *

It´s the discipline that uses statistis and math in the way to determine
risk and income (cash flow) and try to estabilish te present value of
future cash flows. In a way it´s similar to TIR.

I also think that string should be as ODFF states. My translation states
that way. I must say that many of descriptions were changed in my
translations.

And Ubuntu users find a packaged build in the pre-releases PPA at:

 https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-prereleases

with builds for Ubuntu saucy (13.10), Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) and Ubuntu 12.04
LTS precise. A big "Thank you!" to Rico Tzschichholz for providing the backports
this timely.

Best,

[libreoffice-l10n] SUMIFS function

2013-07-20 Thread Mihovil Stanic

Hello again,

this is string for search criteria in SUMIFS function:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/hr/libo_ui/sc/source/ui/translate.html#unit=33753040

If I didn't understand something wrong, this is 100% incorrect.
Criteria is NOT range. It's criteria, condition(number, text, logical
value etc...), but not range. Range is defined 2 strings before thatand
that is range on which CRITERIA is applied.

Please check this, and ifI didn't understood this incorrectly, that
description should be changed.

Same goes also for AVERAGEIFS and COUNIFS function.

Also, where is SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS and COUNTIFS help?
Couldn't find it.

Best regards,
Mihovil

No, because it changes meaning of words.
Sum-of-the-Years'-Digits method is established algorithm in investment; it is
used by this function internally. You can't tell people to use this method,
because you will be telling them to look elsewhere while they are looking at
exactly good place (also, why should brief function description mention any
other function? There is place in help for that).
