[libreoffice-l10n] Survey on bug tracking of software translations.
Hello fellow translators! I have noticed that advanced translation bug tracking is too difficult to bother with in day to day use (at least for me) and I intend to simplify this process by making simplified and specialized bug tracker for translators. I was wondering, if other translators are having similar issues and if my work would be of use for community. I would like to ask translators and translation maintainers to fill this 7-or-less-questions survey: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFdSWjBndTNhVmxka1dGV2xxRmstWmc6MQ Disclaimer: I don't commit to writing such software. Also this was interesting: - Text [ en-US ] = "Guides ~while moving"; + Text [ en-US ] = "Helplines ~While Moving"; - Text [ en-US ] = "~Guides when moving" ; + Text [ en-US ] = "~Snap Lines when moving" ; Also, what is the difference between snap line and helpline? [libreoffice-l10n] Confusion with helplines in 3.5
In new 3.5 strings there is new term – helpline. Is this the same as "guideline" or "snapline" or something completely different? If it is one of the already existing terms, they should be changed, to be in line with others. -- Rūdolfs Mazurs -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to l10n+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/l10n/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

The point is, translating those two strings the same results in lost styles at best, and broken documents at worst. In Latvian there is exactly the same problem, the workaround is that "Title" becomes "Document title" and "Subtitle" — "Document subtitle". It is ugly, but it is also a bug. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to l10n+h...@libreoffice.org Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/www/l10n/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Dependents Precedents

Precedents > In Calc there is tool "Detective". It traces on what cells does the result depend on. For example, if A3 cell contains value "=A1+A2" the value depends on A1 and A2. The precedents are reverse – it points out, which cells uses the value of the given cell. Example, if A4 cells contains value "=sqrt(A3)" then A3 has 1 precedent: A4. I translated it roughly like "incoming" and "outgoing", because they are represented with arrows and there was no sane way how to express it in Latvian. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to l10n+h...@libreoffice.org List archive: http://www.libreoffice.org/lists/l10n/ *** All posts to this list are publicly archived for eternity ***
