Please be careful! Don't send credit card information to a list. You never

Re: [lace] Christmas card exchange

2010-12-13 Thread Lesley Blackshaw
This morning I received the most beautiful lace snowflake card from
Kathy Hensel. My husband's reaction was Can we frame that? It will
definitely take pride of place, with last year's lovely card, on my
mantlepiece this Christmas.

I forgot to say, both when I sent a card to Kathy and when when I
emailed the scan to Jenny, that the piece I made was from Eve Morton's
2007 Christmas decoration collection. My first attempt at making lace
within a bangle. Apologies for the omission.

[lace] Christmas exchange

2010-12-13 Thread Janice Blair
Hi All,
Today I had a nice surprise in the mailbox. There was a box from Barbara Stokes
in Australia. When I opened the box, although it was wrapped very well, I
could hear a tinkling sound and thought I had to deal with broken glass. She
had sent me a large red metal bell with lace on it. Sections of red half
stitch
and red and gold cloth stitch. It is already hanging on my tree. I had just
finished dressing the tree and there was still some space. I decided this year
not to overload the tree or hang up the garlands like I usually do, must be old
age setting in, but there is plenty of lace on the tree.

Thank you Barbara. Merry Christmas,
Janice

[lace] English help for Museums map

2010-12-13 Thread Jo
Lyn

Thank you so much for your offline feedback and encouragement to write an
English help page. When I have the Dutch equivalent of the page, I will put
a proper link on the map page, as now I don't know were to put it. But you
can find the explanations at http://www.lokk.nl/musea/help-en.html
So now I expect either more contributions or further feedback on unclear
details.

Jo

How absolutely fantabulous!!! It's a lot easier than asking
every time. I had been hoping something like this could be
accomplished. This is truly wonderful. I'm so very, very
glad there is now a way to see where the lace-related places
are. Thank you so very much indeed. lrb

[lace-chat] A warm witty Christmas story

2010-12-13 Thread Malvary J Cole
A warm witty short Christmas story

It was the day after Christmas at St. Peter and St. Paul's church in Borden,
Kent, England. Father John, the vicar, was looking at the nativity scene
outside when he noticed the baby Jesus was missing from the figures.

Immediately, Father John's thoughts turned to calling in the local policeman
but as he was about to do so, he saw little Nathan with a red wagon, and in
the wagon was the figure of the little infant, Jesus.

Father John approached Nathan and asked him, Well, Nathan, where did you get
the little infant?

Nathan looked up, smiled and replied, I took him from the church.

And why did you take him?

With a sheepish grin, Nathan said, Well, Father John, about a week before
Christmas I prayed to Lord Jesus, I asked him if he would bring me a red wagon
for Christmas, I would give hime a ride around the block in it.
