[lace] Its been a while coming
Hello one and all It has been a while coming and truthfully it isn't finished just yet, but the gallery is up and visible for the Arachne 2013 Bookmark Exchange and I know there have been a few of you waiting to see what ones have been sent through for viewing. If you can see that yours is not there, please email me with a scan and some details. http://www.brandis.com.au/Arachne/2013bookmarks/index.html Jenny Brandis Kununurra, Western Australia je...@brandis.com.au mailto:je...@brandis.com.au www.brandis.com.au http://www.brandis.com.au/ - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Wonderful job, Jenny! Thank you very much. I see that the site mentions patterns being available for some of the bookmarks, but I cannot see how to get to them. Please can you help me? And lovely bookmarks everyone. Sue - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. For help, write to arachne.modera...@gmail.com. Re: [lace] Its been a while coming
Some beautiful lace and such a wide variety. beautiful work. I am intrigued to know how two of the early ones are, cord work, I dont think it is tatting, but it doesn't look like bobbin lace, could it be needle lace? Great work every one and well done for the visuals. Re: [lace] Its been a while coming
Hi Sue, They are Romanian point lace and the cord is worked with a crochet hook, laid out on a pattern (just like needlelace) and then filling stitches worked. The cord is fun to do (once you've worked out how to do it!) and it is one of the easiest laces to design your own patterns. There are several good tutorials on YouTube, as well as some great books by Syliva Murariu. Re: [lace] Its been a while coming Bookmark exchange 2013
Hi, How wonderful to see all the bookmarks! What a wonderful variety of techniques and styles. I do need to note that the beautiful red bookmark from the pattern Serpentine was made by Shirley Meier and sent to me - Jane Viking Swanson. Not the other way round. It's right before the Battenberg bookmark I sent her. I love the variety and it's a treat to see Romanian Point! Thanks for getting this put together Jane in Vermont, USA jvik...@sover.net Hi Sue, They are Romanian point lace and the cord is worked with a crochet hook, laid out on a pattern (just like needlelace) and then filling stitches worked. [lace] Honiton lace on royal shawl
Hello everyone If I had seen this photo before I could make lace, I would have admired the infant Princess only. Now I appreciate the lace too. There are conventional, pleasing Honiton sprigs attached to a veiling, in an exceptional, well-composed photograph. *http://tinyurl.com/honitononnet* -- Bev in Shirley BC, near Sooke on beautiful Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
