[lace] Lacemaking groups in the west of the UK
We are in the midst of househunting in Weston-Super-Mare and the Burnham on Sea areas of the UK and I was wondering if anyone knows of any Lace groups down this way. I am currently a member of Bromley Lacemakers in greater London area but feel it may be a little to far to travel to meetings. I am looking forward to any information you may have. I did bring my lace to do whilst house hunting (trying my hand at a Flanders Lace edging) but have not had the time nor been awake long enough to make any lace.. Not sure if it's the house hunting or the country air that is wearing me out :-) Best Wishes Celia, currently in Weston but live in Plumstead near Greenwich Uk. [lace] Cantium lacemaker
Does anyone have any recent contact information for the Cantium lacemakers in Canterbury? There's nothing on their website. [lace] Lace websites
Hello All, Some time ago there was a discussion here about how we all could contribute to the list. I am so grateful for the lacemaking friends that I got through Arachne and would like very much to do something in return. The best I can think of is to share my list of favourite bobbin lace websites. I already sent it to Laurie Waters and as she found it useful for her Pinterest site maybe it would be interesting for others too. Many of the sites are well known, but there are also some that may be new to you. The list is a very simple Word document and includes 550 sites at the moment. You can use the list in any way you like, all I want is for people to enjoy these sites as much as I do. If you email me privately I will be happy to send it. Best regards from a sunny Sweden Ann-Marie - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Fw: [lace] Lace websites
On this subject I was sure I had something in my hands recently that I thought I would never use or else had two, for the life of me I cant remember what it was, but when the thought comes back to me which it might, :-) I will dig it out and raffle it. We haven't had one in quite a while and I would rather give it away to someone else than throw it away or just keep it getting in the way. [lace] more Piecework magazine info
Hello All! Thank you David for kindly posting about your iPad app for Piecework. A friend recently sent me info about purchasing 66 back issues of Piecework for $65US. Either digital download or CD. Such a deal! Usual disclaimers. If a tech-savvy Arachnid will make a tiny url, that would be wonderful. ;-) Sincerely, Susan Hottle, Erie, PA USA http://www.interweavestore.com/piecework-ultimate-collection?a=np130822mid=np130822_Celebrate_20_Years_With_PieceWork.196310rid=16626084 - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. [lace] St Petersburg Russia lace exhibit
Hello -- During August 9 to 18th I was in St. Petersburg Russia and saw at their Ethnography Museum a marvelous exhibit of lace -- bobbin and needle. I was unable to obtain any information in English describing the display which was quite large. Can anyone please fill me in on the details of what this was called and who the sponsors or suppliers of all the lace were. Any information would be greatly appreciated. It was a breath taking display to 'stumble' upon. We went back three times Thank you Marion M - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
