[lace] Every week an edging of insertion
Dear Arachnes, In the Netherlands nowadays it is very popular to publish every week an edging for crochet or something smal to embroider. We, a group of bobbin lace- teachers thought it a good idea to start something similar in lace: Every week an edging or insertion. It started today with a simple edging in Schneeberg Lace. We will try to make it interesting for all people, not only simple edgings but also more complicated ones. Every Wednesday around 15.00 pm a new edging or insertion will be published on my website www.kloskant.com http://www.kloskant.com/ or directly to the page http://bit.ly/1GpjsLJ http://bit.ly/1GpjsLJ If you like the idea, please join us. Good idea! Simple patterns like these would be great for confident beginners who want to try making a pattern without any instructions. [lace] Fine Art of Fiber - Chicago Botanic Garden
Anyone who is in the area over the next few days might like to come to the Chicago Botanic Garden to see the Fine Art of Fiber which opens tomorrow (Thursday) night. Full details are at http://www.fineartoffiber.org/ The show and boutiques are the work of members of the North Suburban NeedleArts Guild, Illinois Quilters' Inc. and the Weavers Guild of the North Shore. There are only a few lacemakers who are members of these groups, so you will not see much lace in the show. Photos of the exhibit will go up over the next few days, if you want to browse them online. I was astounded today to discover that my lace mask had been chosen to be on the front cover of the book of this yearâs Women's Journeys in Fiber exhibit, which is part of the whole show.
