[lace] Lace in Winnipeg, Canada?

2015-08-27 Thread Lyn Bailey
Turns out our trip will be taking us to Winnipeg, Canada. Anything lace
related there?

Lyn from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, presently in the wilds of Bismarck, North
Dakota. Haven’t been home since the IOLI Convention in Coralville, Iowa, in
early August.

Hi Lyn,
Good to hear you are travelling on the prairies! Our lace group meets on
Sunday afternoon. Let me know if you are interested.
Also, there's a bit on immigration at the Manitoba Museum, what people
brought/ wore when they arrived in Canada.
The new Human Rights museum is open located at the Forks downtown. The
Forks is a national historic site, shops, antiques. See Websites, travel
brochures. Thrift shops often have threads, various antique lace: Value
Village, etc.
Folklorama is over, two weeks with 45 pavilions represent many countries.
Lots of lace, food, shows nightly, displays. Belgium, Slovenia, Italy,
Russia, etc. etc. see website for another time!

Jocelyn in Winnipeg!
