Re: [lace] Queyras lace
Sylvie Have you looked at the Arachne archives? There have been some discussions of Queyras lace in the past, which may be of use to you: http://www.mail-archive.com/search?q=queyras+lace=lace%40arachne.com Sue suebabbs...@gmail.com - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Hello Sylvie, I haven’t been to Queyras but the lace in Val Varaita just across the border in Italy is very similar. I went to Val Varaita a few years back and have something about it on my website at http://www.jeanleader.net/articles/index.html They’re both freehand laces worked with very few pins - I have a couple of samples from Val Varaita and instructions for a few patterns. Re: [lace] Lace Guild Museum exhibit at the NEC Birmingham
A very professionally presented exhibition. Makes me proud to be associated with lace. Gwynedd is quite correct, but you will note that the news lady uses "crochet" when actually describing a very fine lace - a lace that would never answer to that term. Language! Be sure this is not lost in the shuffle of your e-mails (I never received the first post, from Jane Read): http://youtu.be/XSgQ-orXHfM Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center In a message dated 4/15/2016 5:26:18 P.M. Re: [lace] Ithaca lace event
Dear Arlene, The best harbinger of Finger Lakes Lace Guild Ithaca Lace Day information is the upper left corner of Holly Van Sciver's home page. It should be coming out soon. I go to her website much more frequently than I do to FLLG's. Lyn from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA, where spring is beginning. We arrived home from Arizona, hot and dry, yesterday. "My email sends out an automatic message. Arachne members, please ignore it. I read your emails." >Arlene wrote: >Anyone on here involved in the organization of Ithaca Lace event in Ithaca, NY >in October?
