I wish to thank all of the wonderful Arachneans who privately and publicly
sent encouraging words. it touched my heart when some of you gals
apologized to me for something that was not your mishap. Also thank you to
those steadfast exchange partners who continue to support my efforts.
I do not believe that the foremothers who started the idea of exchanging
lace among the membership intended for the volunteering of hosting an
exchange to be a lifetime commitment, a monopoly or implied ownership of
the effort. definitely i am confident they did not put a gate keeper
position in the membership with regard to the exchanges.
my perception of this group is caring and sharing. if it is within your
talents and motivation to pick up the baton of hosting an exchange, go for
it girl - care and share. i was blessed with having guidance from previous
hosts when i started to do this fun exercise and thus, i believe i have
evolved (hopefully) to doing a good representation of caring and sharing
within the group. when i sent out the first announcement on 8/13, and have
sent at least 4 additional announcements, no one stepped up and said they
wished to carry the baton. i would have and will graciously step down
should someone else wish to carry the baton around the track. i am tickled
and pleased to enjoy the exchanges and merely wished to ensure that the
enthusiasm, sense of accomplishment and enjoyment would continue once more.
imagine my surprise while traveling for two months (still not home yet) and
having sketchy internet access to find i was publicly chastised for the
second time this year for volunteering to care and share. it is a blow
that i believe is not in keeping with the intentions of those that created
this wonderful gift of membership and continue to stay within the group.
time to put a more positive spin on this situation. while the bubble of
fun, creativity and pleasure has been burst, i am blowing up a new balloon
and wish to fill it with good emotions and thoughts. in this endeavor, i
am going to offer another 72 hours of opportunity to sign up (this one
time only until 9/14 for this card exchange because i have to do the juggle
dance and reassign partners with the changes i found in emails. i have no
hard feelings and while i was a bit down for a few days, i am not going to
go against my own beliefs and drop the ball. i am going to look forward
and continue to create.
i apologize for any anxiety that this situation has caused any member.
obviously, it was not my intention to insult, offend, hurt or disappoint
anyone. i ask the indulgence of those steadfast members who have signed up
for the exchange to give me a few more days to get partners paired up. i
work hard to make sure you have someone that you have not shared with in
the past on any exchange to open the door to a new and dear friend. i
thank you in advance and promise to have partners assigned in a couple more
days.
