[lace] 2019 Arachne Card Exchange

2019-09-15 Thread Lin Hudren
Hello Fellow Lacers,

I would like to thank all those participants in the Arachne exchanges the
last years who love to make and share lace. Let's allow the fun to begin
again. Cards can be displayed all year long so they are cherished with
fond memories.

This year the schedule will go like this:

September 10 Sign Ups begin until October 2

October 4 Exchange partner assignments made and emailed out

December 1 All cards should be in the mail, please

Same guidelines apply as the previous exchanges: send in name, snail mail
address, email address, how many cards you wish to make and any
geographical preferences you have to me at *linhud...@gmail.com
*. After making your card(s) please take a picture
and email directly to me. If you wonder if your partner was unable to send
in a photo of the bookmark they sent to you, just send a photo upon receipt
and I will make sure everyone is represented. We will be following up to
make sure we get photos of all of them so if you think you will have a
problem, just let me know. Thanks.

If this is your first time or you are participating for an additional time,
I hope you will have lots of fun. Any type of lace and pattern is
appropriate. Any skill level is welcome. This is creative license at its
best. Don't be shy. This is your time to shine and have fun.

Thanks and hope you will enjoy as much as I plan to.

Hugs, Lin and the Mali

RE: [lace] fancy Zeccatello / Book of bobbin lace stitches

2019-09-15 Thread jo
Stumbled on "the book ..." myself. It indeed has the same "fancy Zeccatello"
on page 95. I recognised more patterns in the book from the Whiting sampler.
Cook and Scott provided better diagrams.

Both the "Book of bobbin lace stitches." As well as the book with the
Whiting sampler have a ground called "fancy Zeccatello". I only know the
latter. Are both talking about the same ground?
