VERY nice idea, Karen.

Do we have people with skill or advice in digitizing in the room?

As a back-of-the-book INDEXER in real life (retired), I imagine I could put
you in contact with folks who do Indexing regularly, and thus know the
‘customs’ and standard guidelines. If making this happen interests anyone
at IOLI, please get back to me.

Idea:  You might “Reply" to the message to see the content.  I don’t know if 
this will work in this situation or not.  (You’d have to toss the message at 
that point unless you really do went to Reply, but that might be an easier 
work-around than hunting for the original in other posts.)

[lace] Source for Grounds Notation?

Hi everyone,

I think I’m looking for an on-line source for explaining Notations for
Grounds (both directions). It would appear that we can/do invent our own
Grounds, but if there are already marvelous options, how shall I learn to read
them?  For example, I would do a half-stitch ground (first) if I saw this
notation.




But what stitch would I do if I saw these?

[lace] Anniversary ideas for a small guild?

Hi Lacers,

We’re still a small guild (ahem - for a while), and some of our members are not 
able to be as active as they’d like.  But we’d still like to do something to 
acknowledge our (non-zero) anniversary as a charter member of IOLI.

Can any of you share little things we could do that would be warm, welcoming, 
cheerful and celebratory? Do any of you have special traditions you have 
developed for this annual celebration? How do you mark this day as special?

[lace] Our local 15 minutes of fame

Allow me to share the marvelous article that just came out in our local 
newspaper about our Guild, the Oregon Trail Lacemakers.  We have been an IOLI 
charter member since 2003, and are looking for more area people who are 
interested in lacemaking.  

The photographer and the reporter seemed to be enjoying themselves, and the 
reporter even got to try some stitches on our visitor’s pillow. I thought they 
did a good job interviewing us, then showing the variety of members and their 
interests/motivations in choosing lacemaking in the article.
