Re: [lace] Blood spot
Hi Alex, it was a small drop of blood and the vanish didn't seem to help at all, I didn't use salt as I can never remember which way to do it and have set stains in, in the past this way which i didn't want to do again. I used the neat liquid I normally use in my washing machine, rubbed it into the stain with my finger tip and it came out. It then went into the machine with a normal load and is sparkly bright clean now, thank you. Sue T Hi Arachnids I’m a little late replying and am surprised that on one mentioned blood stains should first be soaked in salt water, 1 teaspoon to 1 pint, preferably immediately, but even if it has dried it helps to soften the stain. Hope it has all come out. Alex - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. For help, write to arachne.modera...@gmail.com. Re: [lace] Blood spot
Thanks Alex Salt (in _cold_ water for a dried on stain - hot water will set the stain) is my usual first line of attack for bloodstains. Works fairly well on recent stains that haven't been through a hot wash For a fresh (still wet) bloodstain, rubbing dry salt (gently!) onto the spot will soak up the blood, but don't forget to rinse well immediately in cold water (the salt itself is corrosive, not good for delicate fabrics if any is left in) Beth Alex Stillwell wrote: Hi Arachnids IâEUR^(TM)m a little late replying and am surprised that on one mentioned blood stains should first be soaked in salt water, 1 teaspoon to 1 pint, preferably immediately, but even if it has dried it helps to soften the stain.
