I have consulted the oracle as suggested, and it is even known which year I was at the Swanley lace day (I only went once in the 80s) as I was 'caught on camera'.
The glass bead maker was D Ledger (Dennis? or maybe Derek?), but I had remembered correctly that he was elderly then so 25 years on it is unlikely that he still makes them.
