Re: [lace] Freehand Lace Power Point

Hello Susan,

There is a German book called Freihandspitzen von der Schwäbischen Alb,
edited by the German Kloeppelverband, which starts with very narrow edgings
with 5 -7 pairs. In fact it is a very simple edging, which you can also
find in patterns of Le Pompe and this type of laces. If you want, I can
send you a drawing of this 6 pair piece of lace.

Best wishes,

Antje González, from Spain.

[lace] Freehand Lace Power Point

2013-12-02 Thread hottleco
Hello All! Best laid plans are gone awry again. My new (to me) pillow
bobbins seemed like good candidates for a library demo. It's cute as a bugs
ear I've posted a pic to Flickr. So with spangles in order, gingham on the
roller stretchy gold ribbon ready to manage the bobbins for traveling, you
might think that I'd be set to make lace. Au contraire! My plan for making
Skansk hit a major snag when I realized all of my patterns require more than
six pair. A quick Google brought up Jean Leader's articles, Lorelei's test
strips Jo Edkin's ribbons. With such a tiny pillow, I'm reluctant to add my
beaded Mechlin bobbins to the mix, but six pair lace options are less
appealing. The pillow needs something cute petite! Have I missed any
attractive six pair resources that may be worked freehand? If I add pairs, the
Skansk pattern beans requires 11 pair. How do I understand the pros cons?
Suggestions? Regarding my recent Power Point quandary, many thanks to !
all who wrote with help suggestions. Apparently my computer I are older
than I thought--my trial version of PP (MS Office 2007) expired in 2009!
Hoping for a reply from IOLI shortly. Sincerely, Susan Hottle, on vacation
with lots of pillows, bobbins threads but too few books!
