Re: [lace] Lighting for lace making

Hi All

We use an LED light in the bathroom and another one in the bedside lamp in the
bedroom. The light is superb!! Agreed, they are an initial expense, but the
amount of energy they consume is minute! My advice would be to just try one

Do any of you have any experience with LED lights in your home, good or bad.

Have a look on eBay as there are LED bulbs for sale there at much lower prices.
They are sent straight from China I think, so should be equally available
worldwide. DH got some for the car but said they had bulbs for all purposes.

[lace] Lighting for lace making

2013-05-05 Thread Sue
My DH and I are talking about lighting and about LED lighting in our motor
caravan and the conversation went on to include some of the lamps we use in
the house. In the evenings I always turn off the main light and work my lace,
knit, read, watch tv or whatever else I might be doing using my angle poise
lamp.
We are considering investigating to see if using LED lamps in some places
might be better than the usual house lights.

Do any of you have any experience with LED lights in your home, good or bad.

Hi Sue and All!

We live off the grid, which means that we are our own water
and power company.  We use florescent bulbs in our lamps.  But the items that
get the most use are LED headlamps.  Energizer head lamps and you will find a
wide variety of them.  You wear them on your head and where you look is where
the light is.  I use mine all the time, not just for lacemaking but also for
knitting, crocheting, beading, sewing...you get the idea.  It's my main light
at night when I working on items.

There are also gooseneck lights that use
LED bulb assembly that are also really good.  But you have to find table space
for them.

Hugs,

Do any of you have any experience with LED lights in your home, good or bad.

I recently bought an LED light bulb that's the equivalent of at 60 watt bulb
that I used in the bedroom for reading.  It's shaped like a regular light
bulb...here's a link...

http://genet.gelighting.com/LightProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=CONSUMERSPECPAGEPRODUCTCODE=68015

I'm happy with it.  The light isn't cold like a flourescent, and of course,
there's the savings on the electric bill.  The only bad thing was the cost of
the bulb...$16 USD.  I'm hoping that it lasts a very long time.

I plan to slowly add more and more of them as lights burn out.
