I have found inspiration for Romanian Point Lace patterns in two areas:

1. Battenberg patterns---this is not my favorite source. I don't like my
crocheted cord to be crossed over itself and Battenberg patterns do alot
of this.

2. Russian Tape Lace patterns.

It would seem to me that many of the Battenberg patterns would be very
similar to the Romainian Point patterns. Just substitute one the braid for
the Bberg tape.

Valerie, have you seen this Web site? There are patterns available
for sale here.

I do know Doina, and she's a great teacher and designer of Romanian
Point lace. Other than this, I have no personal stake in her business.

Romanian point lace" by Angela Thompson and Kathleen Waller. Batsford, 2003.

This is more than a book of patterns as it includes the background and
history of the lace as well as full instructions beginning "at the beginning" with
the very basics.

Angela Thompson subscribes, usually, to Arachne but she has been quiet for a
long time now.

[lace] Romainain Point

Hi All
I'm coming out of lurkdom to ask for help finding
Romainain point patterns. I have made all of Sylvia's
patterns a couple of times over. I don't design as I
can't seem to see what anything would look like be
for doing it or after it is finished. I would much
rather just make lace. Is there a book that just
has patterns or is there someone who needs a pattern
tester.
  TIA
Valerie
