Clay Blackwell writes "indicates that there has never been any archival indication of the existence of lacemaking in Williamsburg during that time, and therefore there is never any demonstration of the art of lacemaking in the historical village"...When I visited Williamsburg in February 1995, a bobbin lacemaker was demonstrating lacemaking in front of a big display of lace in one of the historic buildings .
