I would love one. Mind you on retirement i told myself that I would not
anymore do two things:
1. Swop and change queues in the Supermarket. I now choose a queue and
wait!
2. I would not practice academic writing anymore. I had my fill of
that -needful- but frustrating discipline. That is why i write like I do...
more or less, how I talk. (A Devon accent with a slight Australian twang!)
Having said that, the issue of (for me) Lace bobbins, or lace making
bobbins, the example of -lacemakers- or whatever variation on that your
spell checker wants to offer you, even my self imposed East Devon bobbins
instead of Honiton bobbins. Though my use is more accurate it does clash
with common usage. I have probably lost that battle like the antique
dealers miss naming -Lace Makers Lamps-.
From the quality of emails i have received over the years there are more
than a few members who are far better writers than I am, so I think it is
truly possible to create, from amongst the members, a very practical style
sheet.
IF.... I can help I will do, but I am not the one to listen to with
confidence.
Bye ‘me dears
Brian (who is as -Maized as a Brush-.)
