How about making an edging (as for a handkerchief, only "inside-out",
with the headside on the inside) and make a picture frame with it. You
could put a picture of you and DH (taken on the anniversary date?) in the
frame.
If you didn't want to put the lace on the outside, you could attach it to
a mat within the glass (and have the framer use a spacer so the lace can
breathe).
