There is a Tatted Bedspread on eBay. I recognize the rings and picots of normal tatting, but each section has a wide row of stitches that I don't recognize. It this all tatted? Or has there been a row of crochet added around each section?

Then the picot loops are crocheted together. Very appropriate for a bedspread, which is so large, as the techniques adds some presence to the pattern. Personally I can't imagine making a gazillion motifs!
