Hi fellow Arachnids,

Having used Malcolm; his work is excellent but expensive. He does a lot of
one off work designed for a particular person or fitting a particular lace
or other design to make a harmonious whole. He can also have the fan
professionally mounted and or cased if that is required.

I have no connection to any of the fan stick makers, just a satisfied
customer. Kleinhout's fan sticks are a little more flimsy, but very useful
as they have no 'shoulders' and can therefore be used for different depths
of fan-blade. Any ends that are too long can be carefully cut with kitchen
scissors and sanded down. Stuart Johnson's fans are very well finished and
he can do the fans without shoulders but only to a certain length. His fan
sticks with shoulders are for particular fan patterns (which he sells as
well)

No connection between me and any fan stick makers apart from being a
satisfied customer.

Hi fellow Arachnids,

Baraud is a eBay dealer in antique fans an small antique and vintage items
(often needlework related). Yes, the name is made up from Barry and Audrey.
I have dealt with them and they are helpful, honest and knowledgeable
traders.

If you want a fanstick maker there is Malcolm Cox in Ireland and Stuart
Johnson in England. Also, Kleinhout in the Netherlands.

Happy lace making,

I have had this request from a student:
Have you ever heard of a fan stick supplier Baraud’s? I think it’s from
Barry and Audrey. I can’t find them on the internet and wondered whether
I’ve got the name right?

I've never heard of them, can anyone else help?

Hello Jacquie and everyone

They seem to be an ebay seller, Newton Abbot, UK ?
Maybe not makers as such?
