Hi Noelene, At 06:06 AM 15-02-04 +1100, you wrote: Just heard that Adelaide has had its hottest temperature yesterday since 1939 - 43 degrees C!!! It was 44.3 on Saturday and today I've just been informed that it got to 42 deg. C - no wonder the air con was struggling. I sat outside in the twilight hours tonight and made lace with the south easterly gully breezes howling in - relief at night is wonderful. :-).Only one fire that I know of but boy oh boy did those water bomber planes move in fast - no sooner did we see the smoke than the smallish grass fire in the nearby gorge was brought under control *real* fast. Stay cool Noelene - according to my daughter in Perth much cooler weather is coming our way but alas not until the end of the week. Shirley - cooling down a wee bit tonight :-) To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace-chat [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Very funny, Jackie!I know you find Brisbane cool after Darwin - but remember, I lived in Brisbane when we first arrived in Australia, so you can't pull the wool over my eyes about Brisbane weather! Regards, Ruth (Sydney, where its still continuing hot and humid, although a cool change is promisedcan't wait!) Just heard that Adelaide has had its hottest temperature yesterday since 1939 - 43 degrees C!!! Firefighters are on alert, but so far no destructive fires. Are you surviving OK Shirley? I think Cooma was up to about 40 yesterday, but at least we get cool, sleepable nights Noelene in Cooma 6.00 am, cool at the moment, but expecting another scorcher today. Now I know why my tame Aussie has come over here - you should have seen him playing in the snow like a kid.
