I worked pumping gas in the late-70's-early-80's when gas went over $1.00 per gallon in California. So we went to half-pricing because the pumps couldn't show the price above a dollar, and customers didn't like it because they figured they were getting ripped off. Well, they were, just not the way they thought! It just makes you feel older: Why, I remember when a candy bar was 10 cents, and gas was 27 cents!
