Re: [Lazarus] operator overloading

2013-02-24 Thread Wildfire
Both variants will work. The variant with b: Boolean was originally
introduced for the non-Object-Pascal modes (fpc, tp), because there you
only have the name of the procedure/function as a result variable and as
operators don't have names (in that sense) you can specify the name of
the result variable. It works in the Object Pascal modes (delphi,
 objfpc) however as well.

Thanks for the Heads Up Sven, you learn something new everyday.

My apologies for the misinformation (and HTML) earlier.--

  Alex,
Thanks, that's exactly what I was trying to do!
I was using pounds := pence Div 100

  Cheers

Which would work with Pennies := pence MOD 100--

Never mind I found it in IDE options, sorry for wasting your time.--

2011-09-05 Thread wildfire

I think this:

X-Mailer: Microsoft Windows Live Mail 15.4.3538.513

I'm not sure about that...

is your problem... - what it sends seems like it contains no references
in the header, therefore programs that are aware of them, well, they are
at loss...

Windows Live Mail is thread aware, whether or not it posts references I
don't know

I'm using this post as a test :)

Windows Live Mail is a webfront of what used to be Hotmail, right ?

Wrong.

Maybe there are some settings that govern this (I don't use hotmail, I
don't know)

Perhaps.

Yet, Marcelo's post doesn't have a References header.

As Lukasz suggested earlier, perhaps there is a setting for this. If there
is I wouldn't have a clue where to find it (I rarely use this client).

Either way it's not actually the client that's the issue. Perhaps a server
somewhere is stripping the header (though why I wouldn't have a clue).

Hexadecimals are base 16, with numbers from 0 to 9 and letters from A to F.

Antonio, Silvio requires base 36 (0-9,A-Z) not base 16, I think this is

Re: [Lazarus] tFileOpen Action, Is it possible to cancel the dialog...

2010-08-01 Thread Wildfire

Cannot you check if the current file needs to be saved and prompt the
user for it _before_ opening the dialog?

That's one work around, The FileOpen Action is tied to a couple of controls
though (Menu, ToolButton) and I was hoping to do all the work inside (so the
menu toolbutton remain synchronised). It kind of defeats the purpose of
the actions if I have to handle this myself.

If it can't be done I'll probably write my own action for opening the file
but it seems to me that this is a very common situation so canceling the
dialog within the BeforeExecute should be possible returning Cancel as the
result.

I think I've just answered my own question, changing the dialogs execute
event ???, is this the way to go or is their a simpler solution?

[Lazarus] tFileOpen Action, Is it possible to cancel the dialog...

2010-07-31 Thread Wildfire
Just started messing about with the standard actions in Lazarus and came
across a minor problem.

Is in possible to cancel the dialog in the BeforeExecute event, my plan was
to ask the user to save the current file (Yes/No/Cancel) before opening
another, problem is I don't know how to cancel the Dialog if the User
selects Cancel.

My apologies if I'm missing something glaringly obvious but I've never used
actions before and although I can work around it I was just hoping I could
do it within the actions events themselves.

Ant this does work in Linux ?

The Modem (3g mobile/celluar broadband) has extended AT commands to handle
SMS's unfortunately the software my provider issues only runs in Windows.
Hence my question.

There's only 4 games left this season anyway so I'll probably throw
something together in time for next seasons kick off.

2010-04-24 Thread Wildfire
Thanks for the replies guys,

Ido, I already have a cellular modem and service and unfortunately Graeme I'll
be using AT commands to send/poll SMS's not HTTP :(

It's not important but I'm lazy at heart and even a couple of clicks saved is
good for me ;)

I may write my own during the close season but if anyone can give advice it
would be much appreciated.

The main reason I ask is due to Lazarus' Multi Platform capabilities, the app
supplied by my ISP only runs on Windows OS' and I don't fancy lugging my laptop
around the games nor using a cellphone (even with predictive text) to enter the
messages.--
