Nathan, Roger Do you believe there is a way to synchronize this work, so we won't do parallel stuff and avoid portability issues. cheers Erich Roger E McClurg wrote: Nathan, I'd like to get set up as a developer. My main thrust would be to develop tools to make LEAF easier to use for those users who have a need for the functionality that LEAF can provide but not the knowledge of routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc. to properly configure the box. The goal being to make LEAF as easy to set up as a Linksys for users who need that level of hand holding, while keeping the granularity an expert would need. It is a tall order, and it would have been done by now if it were easy. Another thing I am interested in is secure remote monitoring and control of LEAF devices. There are a number of people who maintain dozens of LEAF devices (Charles Steinkuehler comes to mind here). I have done some work using SNMP for this and I am interested in expanding the capabilities. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. I don't know of any particular packages that are being worked on. There are people working on packages, but it seems like they are doing them for specific niches. I have some work done on the interfaces file, but other than that, I don't know of any other packages that have any work done on them. If you wat to be a developer, Mike Noyes can set you up. If all you want is a place to put your creations, I'll be happy to host your work under the webconf cvs tree until things with the new website settle down again. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. This "unified environment" would not be mandatory. However it would require a compatibility layer for any LEAF variant since the packages that would depend on certain configuration data could not be assumed. This would be left optional for the user/variant to use at it's discretion. -- ~Lynn Avants aka Guitarlynn guitarlynn at users.sourceforge.net http://leaf.sourceforge.net If linux isn't the answer, you've probably got the wrong question! --- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: AMD - Your access to the experts on Hammer Technology! Everyone, The SourceForge Crew posted these login messages on shell1. Wed Mar 28 00:59:39 PST 2001 User home directories and project group directories on this server have been moved. Symlinks have been put in to place for existing accounts to make this transition smoother. These symlinks will be removed on 2001-05-01; please update any references you have to the old directory structure. The new directory structure has split users and projects out by the first, then first and second characters of the username and projectname. OLD: /home/users/username, /home/users/foobar NEW: /home/users/u/us/username, /home/users/f/fo/foobar OLD: /home/groups/projectname, /home/groups/myproject NEW: /home/groups/p/pr/projectname, /home/groups/m/my/myproject Wed Apr 25 04:44:29 PDT 2001 Home directories on the SourceForge CVS servers are generated automatically by connecting to cvs.sourceforge.net via SSH. This need only be done once (and the CVS server will log you out automatically). It should be noted that new CVS users will not be able to perform CVS operations until they have a home directory on the CVS servers. - The SF Crew -- Mike Noyes [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ Leaf-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-devel
