The user/admin logins for our phpWebSite are done with php session ids and cookies. They are md5 hashed and stored in our MySQL database. They only authenticate logins for our phpWebSite. I disabled the user login from our home page. http://leaf.sourceforge.net/ User authentication for SourceForge is handled site wide by an LDAP server. It authenticates logins for cvs, ssh shell, compile farm, and web site access. The web login for SourceForge is here: https://sourceforge.net/account/login.php -- Mike Noyes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://leaf.sourceforge.net/ ___ Leaf-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-devel

Looks great to me too. When you say you disabled user logins, do you mean that you took the "Login via SSL" link off the home page? Just wondering becuase I was hunting around for that a bit myself. I'd have to click too many things and be at the mercy of my internet dload speed/sf website speed/short term memory loss :-o > Option 2: > Create a page in our DocManager using the SourceForge Site Status page as a > template. Example: > http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=2352&group_id=1 That ones sort of messy. There's a lot going on for the font and style. Hard to grasp the simple point of the page. (Sort of a general bloat gripe about SF). > Option 3: > Create a page in our phpWebSite for this purpose. Example: > http://leaf.sourceforge.net/content.php?menu=1000&page_id=4 Now that I like. I was hoping for something really simple. It could even be straight text, if that's easy to roll out. Though, I still think cutting and pasting a minimal html version would be straightforward enough. What might be intersting is to pop up a new half sized window when the user clicked the NoyesNews link. That window would be absolutely minimal with only the news in text or html format. Then you could sort of put that small window off to the side of your desktop and click on a link while watching it appear in your main browser window. Option 1: I already log all SourceForge support requests that I make for us. I can create a couple of trackers in our SF Task List in the Administration Subproject. Example ref. Task ID: 25193, 25199, 25194, 45595, 45594. Note: you can only view this page if you're logged into SF. https://sourceforge.net/pm/task.php?group_id=13751&group_project_id=5257 Option 2: Create a page in our DocManager using the SourceForge Site Status page as a template. Example: http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=2352&group_id=1 Option 3: Create a page in our phpWebSite for this purpose. Example: http://leaf.sourceforge.net/content.php?menu=1000&page_id=4 Will everyone still want me to post updates to this list too? -- Mike Noyes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://leaf.sourceforge.net/ ___ Leaf-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-devel

Again, good job and thanks in advance :) I realized that what I really need from you, in addition to all the excellent work that you've done maintaining the SF site, is to keep some sort of really simple web based log of these informational emails. It'd be so awesome to be able to scroll down through a short listing, there's probably is one already :-o If not, something like: Date: 16 JAN 2002 URL: www.mail-archive.com/leaf-devel%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg03976.html Summary: Files section updated and files released. Personal developer CVS trees now up. A major update, so let me know if anything broke. Something along those lines. Maybe I'm lazy or crazy, but doesn't that seem mildly appealing? I'm having a problem keeping the big picture straight when some of this gets drowned out.
