Re: [LU] 2-0 and checking out the opposition

2019-01-11 Thread John Lee via Leedslist
Great performance - they were truly sh*te though, regardless of their league
position. Shame we didn’t get a couple more. Blind officials both helped and
hindered - how BPF didn’t get a booking, at least, for dangerous play I don’t
know, but we should have had a couple of penalties. After the non offside one I
was signing up to join the conspiracy theorists - terrible decision.

The balls being talked about Bielsa and ‘the spy’ is codswallop. Takes me back
to the Dons dossiers - they all that was cheating too. Given that Derby were
supposedly up for it after finding out Mr Bean had made an appearance, just how
bad are they normally?

As well as the centre backs and Clarke, a big thumbs up to Alioski, who I
thought had a f*cking great game.

Fully expect BPF to cop a ban now though, and 15 point deduction for finding
out in advance just how sh*te Derby are!

Super Leeds!

Re: [LU] 2-0 and checking out the opposition

2019-01-11 Thread David Nathan

On train home now but 100 per cent impressed- we were great from first to last
whistle and played a top 7 team off the park . The starting team was decent but
bench just kids so we were worried pre match. Bielsa really is a genius-
despite 2 league defeats we totally dominated- only worry was the fact that it
was only 1 0at half time but Harrison tap in at start of second half sorted
that - many times we looked as if we had an extra man. Forshaw had his best
game for ages and Clark is a top player in the making- 2 0 flattered them

Re: [LU] team

2019-01-11 Thread Michael Benjamin
Why should it?
He wasn't trespassing. He wasn't arrested. Just what is so aweful? That we plan
and go to any length?
More problematic is the feeding frenzy over our goalie who also did nothing-
but it looks bad. There is no way that Bailey saw the guy. But, of course, two
stone cold penalties are overlooked. After all we are Leeds and it was Frank
Lampard's Derby County.
But we'll have the Real third team goalie in by the week-end.
As for the game: we were absolutely awesome. With so many 'yet to come back', I
just cannot see anyone stopping us from going up automatically.
Again we had Clarke, Shackleton and Davis from the accademy whilest Phillips
was suspended. Not to mention Roberts, who is a bonnie young footballer, on the
bench. So much for depth and burn-out.
Dare to dream-- it looks as if only a freak occurence can stop us. We are,
literally, in a different league from all the other teams.
Tonight, there were so many MOM performances it would be stupid to pick one out.

Re: [LU] Good to be back

2019-01-11 Thread Simon McNally
Agree about Derby game.
I’ve been on edge since the Forest game. Like you, I’m hoping that this is not
the start of another collapse. I’d take a draw tonight, particularly with
Norwich and West Brom playing each other tomorrow.
The hope I’m clinging to is that we have been a very different team this year -
I think we’ve dominated possession in every game except the Sheffield United
one.
I never thought I’d ever say this but I really hope that Cooper is fit to play.
Fingers crossed that Pablo is fit too.
I think the main thing is that we’ve got Bielsa. If anyone can pull results out
of a weakened team it’s him!
Like you said, he always wants to attack which may leave us open at times but
also means we’ll pick up wins.
Been walking around all day muttering “fucking come on Leeds!”
Not sure I can take another few months of this!
On and on!

[LU] re good to be back

2019-01-11 Thread nat...@sky.com
Of course the QPR comments should have read"and like most of us I was not too
UNhappy to lose narrowly" (although to be honest I was not too happy either) it
is an odd feeling watching us lose and then just shrugging it off because I am
not bothered and it is probably for the best

Homwe in time for tonights game after 10 days holiday with wife and her family
in Lanzarote
None of them are football fans so it is odd watching games alongside them -
managed to see both Forest and QPR on TV
RE - Forest , I loved the way we went at them when down to 10 men and thought
another miracle was possible when we got our noses in front but it was not to
be. I do think if we could have kept the lead for 10mins or so we would have
won, but we didn't and 2 quick goals killed us off. I have read all the 'we
should have shut up shop' comments on here and elsewhere but it is not our
style and with that mindset we would have drawn Villa and Blackburn games , so
it is high risk high reward. Also I love the way Bielsa analyses and explains
everything post match - it means we can all understand (if not necessarily
agree) with his decisions. For Forest he said he could not take anyone off
(went through all options) without weakening the team at a time when we were
still on top of the game - it was corners that did for us. If the ref had done
his job and sent their lad off early doors we would have won - fine margins
Re QPR - I thought the bench was as bad as Monk & Christiansen but the starting
line up was OK in the circs - again fine margins cost us - Roberts hitting the
post in first few seconds would have changed the game. Bielsa again explained
why he rested certain players and played others, again all reasonable choices,
and like most of us I was not too happy to lose narrowly - in the event it
saves us a long trip to Portsmouth and the possibilty of a humiliating or worse
physcological defeat or extra games.
DERBY - tonight is massive - it really could define the rest of the season. As
fans we are a bit mentally scarred after the last 2 collapses - Monk when we
were 99% certain to be in the play offs and missed out, then TC (and Heck) when
we went from top in November to out of the play off race a few months later.
Add to that there is this 'half myth / half truth' story that Bielsa's team
always run out of steam and collapse at the latter stages of the season. As if
these 2 factors are not enough we have the fact that we are Leeds and we always
blow it at the end (a legacy of Revie's 'more often the bridesmaid hardly ever
the bride' team who should have won miles more trophies than they did)
So a defeat tonight and it is 3 losses on the bounce in the league and the
probability that we will lose top spot and lose all our points advantage over
the chasing pack. It will lead to a lot of 'Leeds are falling apart again'
stuff from our own fans let alone other teams. It will also call Bielsa into
question for the first time and his stubbornness in the transfer window.
A win on the other hand means we keep top spot whatever anyone else does and
puts the pressure on Norwich and West Brom who play each other and on Sheff
Utd. It also puts us back on the rails and gives us more hope of beating Stoke
and Rotherham
Good news is Cooper and Pontus should be re-united at the back and make us more
solid - bad news is the loss of Douglas and even worse the possible loss of
Pablo, our main bit of guile.
There is no reason we cannot win if we play to our potential but we will need
to be on top of our game and cut out the silly mistakes but I would bite your
hand off now for a 1-0 to us , I can't see a repeat of the 4-1 hammering we
gave them at their place
So onwards and upwards - lets get this show back on the road and get back to
winning ways !
