I know you can get Sky Go in Europe now but does anyone know if the Red Button
is available?

Any bars good for the Leeds game please, Guy, Allard?

This is good as well. Advises on size of dish for the area. Personally, if no
restrictions, I would just put in a 2.0 mtr

Hi Richard

Take a look here, a few of my friends get FreeSat down in Murcia, they are
using a 1.2 - 2.0 mtr dish though.

Hi,

I've asked this before, but need a little more info.

My Mum has moved to the lower Pyrenees and still has a yearning for UK TV, I
can get it via the Internet using various methods, VPN, Slingbox, FilmonTV etc
etc, but cos they are in the back of beyond their internet can get very slow at
times, so as to be unwatchable, no mobile broadband available and Orange say
Pfffttt when asked when fibre will be available.

I've been offered a satellite dish, which I believe uses Sky broadcast, but
includes BBC etc. Does anyone use that so far south and does it work and if so
can you get subtitles and my mum's a bit mutt and jeff.

Always worth asking the away club for Corporate tickets but to sit in the Leeds
end after lunch.

I do this at Brentford and they always have some spare tickets in the away end.

Probably the other club asking LUFC for confirmation of a name/address, so not
the LUFC database being shared per se Under GDPR, security checking as part of
a ticket transaction would be deemed a legitimate purpose for using the data,
so not prohibited.
Although the home club should be notifying the applicant that they're going to
do that somewhere in the Privacy Notice/Consent dialogue.

Told him I don't think it will be that easy somehow.

I have membership @ gold level for getting away tickets and have not got one

BUMP ! That is us being brought back down to earthPOP! - That is our bubble
bursting Nah, not really, our second string went out of a Cup that we have no
interest in, in front of 18,500 (mostly) disappointed fans.It was not a good
day at the office and last nights team and performance had none of the style or
tempo we have been getting used to in the league We were very much on the back
foot from the off - I was still sorting myself out (always take a swig of
Oramorph when I get to my seat) so I did not see why the penalty was given, but
none of our players complained. The Preston lad stepped up very cocky and
smacked in a great penalty 0-1

Minutes later it could have been 2 as a shot took a deflection and just went
wide.
We then got into it a little bit with a couple of half chances but there was
little cohesion in our game. A bad punch from their keeper landed straight on
Pontus' head but his header was cleared off the line.
Then came what should have been a defining moment for us - a horrible looking
two footed lunge on Baker led to a straight red. So around 60minutes to go and
11 v 10 surely we would go on and win?
We huffed and puffed as the half wore on but never really looked sharp enough
in and around the box to get the equaliser.
We then got caught out on the break as Brendon Barker drove forward beating a
couple of men with ease and fired home a great shot into the corner leaving
Blackman no chance. A quality goal from a quality player- he is on loan from
Man City and I remember us being linked with him, so much so that I watched a
youtube video montage of him and was very impressed indeed So 2 down at half
time but a man advantage - time and the possibility of turning it round.
We sent on Saiz and Klich. Saiz looked absolute head and shoulders above
everyone else on the pitch and nearly created a goal back but Bamford missed a
sitter We continued to huff and puff with Saiz the maestro but it never quite
worked - we sent on Alioski as well but he could not retrieve the situation and
indeed blasted his one chance over the bar when the keeper messed up and the
goal was empty So our first defeat, but not a real one given the starting line
up The worry was that none of the fringe players impressed at all. Not one of
them gave the impression of being ready for the first team. Blackman, Roberts,
Baker and Harrison all looked average at best. Even more of a worry was that a
genuine first teamer, Bamford looked quite poor and made a mess of a couple of
decent opportunites. Dallas was his normal 'Mr Average'
Saiz looked a class above and Pontus did Ok and it is another 90mins for him

So not a great night but not one that will count for anything - bring on Boro
on Friday and we will see if it is bump and pop or , hopefullly it will be
another triumph for Bielsaball and the man on the bucket Dave

Re: [LU] QPR game streaming

2017-12-08 Thread Robinson, Mick
Sorry Nigel, pressed send too soon, I thought it was only not on stream if Sky
(or a UK company) had the gig.

I am sure the rules change each week. It make you just want to stream on VIP box

Anyway, by a quirk my Ex Wife (QPR Fan) just called me up with two spares, in
the QPR end with her. I will take it and sit on my hands when we win 0-2

Beer in The Bush first anyone?

That's what they're saying officially, yes. The game is being shown live by
certain international broadcasters, so isn't available everywhere, and unlike
previous games, they seem to believe they have sorted out a way for other
countries to still get access to it.

Especially if you remember Midd & Yorkshire contrived a result in the last game

that was really hard work - I saw about 60 mins due to shitty VPN viewing.
I thought brum had some really good players.
Lesogga hardly touched the ball but it was his shot that created the game.
Cooper crocked again, hope Pennington is fit again.
Beradi came on.
Dallas goal.
Top of the league - I can't believe it. These are happy days

I expect that they will attempt to limit access according to IP address. I
have a French address, so notionally could subscribe from there, but access
from the UK and Ireland will probably be difficult, even with that. We will
probably be able to use a VPN to get around that, but it will result in low
bandwidth and a poor quality picture. Time will tell, I guess. We just need a
guinea pig to try it out!

More info:
The innovative new service will enable overseas EFL fans to follow their team’s
entire 2017/18 season The EFL has today unveiled iFollow, an innovative digital
live streaming and content platform that will revolutionise the way football
fans overseas can follow their EFL teams.

iFollow will, for the first time in English football, enable EFL fans based
outside the UK and Ireland to watch their team during the regular EFL season.
With an estimated 270,000 EFL fans based outside the UK, iFollow will allow
clubs to enable their supporters to follow the action wherever they are in the
world.

Kicking off at the start of the 2017/18 EFL season, overseas subscribers will
pay the equivalent of £110 per season for the service which will provide
coverage of up to 46 live games per club. More than 1,500 matches will be
available in HD quality, with iFollow showing every EFL league match live
unless that match has been selected by the EFL’s overseas broadcast partners.

Fans based in the UK and Ireland will still also have access to live audio
commentary, highlights packages and exclusive content as part of the new
offering, rebranded to replace the EFL’s existing PlayerHD platform.

At launch, the vast majority of EFL clubs have opted in to utilise the iFollow
platform and those who have not will have access to the same live streaming
opportunity and will provide their fans with access through their own club
digital services.

Research commissioned by the EFL suggests that there is significant demand for
a service like iFollow amongst fans based overseas. A survey of over 1,600 such
fans showed that 73% would be very likely or quite likely to subscribe to a
live match streaming service and almost half would be happy to pay an annual
subscription fee to do so. The findings suggest over 55% of the EFL’s fans are
located in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand where the
potential audience for the iFollow platform could reach into the hundreds of
thousands.

EFL Chief Executive Shaun Harvey commented: “The launch of iFollow is a notable
development and will revolutionise the access thousands of overseas fans enjoy
when following their EFL team.

“The new iFollow platform represents a potentially significant new revenue
stream for Clubs, while enabling enhanced engagement with existing fans now
living abroad.

“iFollow will also present the EFL with an important opportunity to stimulate
the interest of new groups of supporters who follow our clubs overseas, which
in turn will help support the growth of our competitions on the international
stage.”

The live streaming of matches will be available from the start of the 2017/18
season in conjunction with a brand new digital presence for clubs via official
websites and apps, together creating the largest sporting digital network in
the world. US-based company NeuLion, a market leader in online video delivery,
whose clients include the NFL, NBA and the Premier League, have developed the
integrated streaming service alongside UK company Realise who have built the
club websites. The two suppliers were appointed by the EFL in July 2016
following a

What a brilliant performance. I just loved every minute of it.

I can't really find any fault other than Greens kicking , Vierra occasionally
getting carried away and giving the ball away and Chris Wood at times looking a
bit ponderous. However, that's been highly critical.

I could write 4 pages on the positives.

What the fuck is going on with Doukara ? Last 2 games he looked like a rugby
player but tonight he was skilful and strong , a real handful.

Are there still "concession" ticket prices sold at Elland Rd? My daughter,
Alexandra, wants to go on Friday night but unless there's a student discount
she won't be able to.

I've been on the official website bit found no joy there (though I'm willing to
admit that my cack-handed search attempts are just as likely to be at fault as
the website).

Thanks in advance, Damian

Get an android tv box. Same as a tablet but connects to tv

Search eBay for "android tv box fully loaded". Start from £24 up to £120

It's revolutionised my viewing!

Takes a bit of fiddling about with but I have

Kodi - football streams films tv shows. Access to all sorts of channels

Mobdro - brilliant for sport and channels

Showbox - films and box sets galore

Also (and I haven't tried this) but hola app is a browser and you can pretend
to be in USA or UK etc

Also add filmon tv for a few more channels

There is also a Thai service called cloud tv but doesn't do anything different
to mobdro

My Sky went back to standard pricing (£65 per month) in Dec so I called them up
threatening to cancel, they put me through to retentions who offered £53/mth, I
said it was too much and cancelled with 30 days' notice, but 1 week before they
pulled the plug I called back and said it was my last day to order Virgin so I
wouldn't be without TV what could they do. At this point they put me through to

Hi Chaps,
Anyone out there with experience of Now TV online streaming?

I was thinking of ditching Sky, or at least phoning them up and threatening
them with it unless they give me a discount.
Trouble is the QOT is very much into Sky Atlantic Channel - Game of Thrones and
other stuff, I would miss some of them too.

Sky Atlantic is on Now TV, which would be my fallback if Sky didn't play ball
on the price.
However I don't want to risk it, if it is not reliable or poor quality.

Cheers
KOT.

Due to late working and train delays I only had time for 1 pint before the
match so, for the first time in ages I was sober - big mistake.

The first half was really dreadful, and we were lucky that Brentford seemed to
be playing with no attackers so we went in only 1 down. Their goal was
dreadful defending from the whole team let the guy run and run. Second half was
better in most respects, but we still only troubled the keeper 3 times, one of
which was the goal and the other two belters from Doukara.

Leeds fans in decent voice, especially at half time bantering with the subs
kicking about. Started to get a bit restless midway through 2nd half, until
goal went in and mentalness ensued! Definitely going to make an effort to get
to the pub on time next time.

Wow - we were not expecting that result. Pre match I had said to a mate in the
pub that even if, by some miracle we won today, and we agreed it would take a
minor miracle, that it would not mean anything and all our problems , on and
off the pitch would remain. Having said that we won and it was great. The first
victory my son has seen this season (he missed Cardiff)  and overall we
deserved it and  we LOVED it.
Yes, we lived dangerously at times and they missed a sitter (from a Snoddy
cross) at the end that would have gained them a point, but from start to finish
we gave it everything and all the players gave it their best, and, all things
considered that is all we can ask for.
In the  pub (and we were there very early so bear that in mind) I did say I
would like to see both Adeyemi and Bridcutt in front of the back four with Wood
up top on his own supported by Cook, Mowatt and Dallas  (OK i wanted Byram in
place of Wooton from the start) so when we took our places I had to admit that
if it did not work I had no suggestions to make things better given that it was
the team I wanted.
From the off,and for the full 90 really, Hull showed how much better than us
they are, and showed us how much we need to improve to get to that level.
Luckily for us football is not just about being the better players etc, and
today the strong blustery wind made it hard for both teams. They passed it
around and cut us apart a few times, either the wind , a poor final ball or the
attacker not quite being there meant that we had a few narrow escapes as the
ball flashed across our 6 yard box with no-one getting the needed touch.
We had a couple of good moves of our own and this game was won in a 15minute
spell just before half time. a brilliant through ball by Cook, showing why he
is such a good prospect, fed Dallas who had to run onto it and he put a great
cross in that Wood met well and hammered home. A great goal (similar to
Huddersfield with Antenuccis goal) I had tried to defend Wood pre game but his
overall play in recent games makes that hard. Today  he took his goal well and
was a threat throughout and held the ball up and won his flick-ons. There is
still hope for him despite some fans being on his back. Then a moment that we
thought would be the defining one but in the end counted for nothing - Mowatt
won the ball and fired a shot that their keeper just stood and watched, unlike
Cardiff and Hudds this one hit the woodwork and bounced to safety. Oh how we
could have done with a second we thought. Then a corner was played, in a
practised move, to Cook at the edge of the box and his shot was parried
straight to Adeyemi who slotted home - 2 up at time. Off to rapturous , if
slightly disbelieving applause.

The off for 17 on 17 protest had been a real damp squib with only a dozen or so
fans leaving their seats - pointless waste of time (when they returned there
was some argy bargy with the stewards) If we are going to protest things it
needs to be better organised and better supported than this Second half we
started and stayed on the back foot and when they got one back after only
10minutes we feared the worse (I predicted 2 -4 at that stage) but we stuck to
our task. Bridcutt looking like the real deal (he is very small - same height
as Cook) and made Evans prediction of him ' being the best midfielder in the
Division' a genuine  belief rather than total hyperbole.
They had a couple of chances that Silvestri saved well - he really is a good
shot stopper but needs to command his area much much better- and Cooper and
Bellusci put in last ditch tackles to save the points. We continued to threaten
a bit, albeit on the back foot, and Adeyemi had a chance to wrap it all up  but
basically bottled it when put through. Murphy, Byram and Doukara all came on,
mainly to waste time (Silvestri got booked for taking too long) as we watched
the clock tick down slower and slower. Snoddy came on for them to good applause
an put in one cross that should have brought the equaliser but the Hull player
headed wide and we breathed again.
The final whistle was met with cheers of delight, relief and disbelief. The
whole ground rising to greet our heroes.
Yes they are better than us but we won and that is all that counts tonight - a
hard fought and hard won but deserved victory, one that papers over the cracks
but who cares, let us all enjoy tonight
11 heroes out there today (plus the subs)  - especially pleased to see Wood
have a good game and get a goal and Bridcutt was probably our MOM but they all
gave it everything and they (and we) got the rewards today. Great stuff

Who knows - I am in Gelderd / Kop / Revie North Stand (whatever you choose to
call it) and the 'protest' such as it was , was in the South Stand. No-on near
me left their seats. If I did not know in advance that this protest was taking
place I doubt if I would have noticed. As it was there was a bit of
'excitement' as the clock ticked onto 17 but then nothing - I was expecting the
SS Upper to be empty and the bottom 50/50 but on 18mins there were no visible
empty seats. Like I say a total damp squib a non event. There were chants later
on aimed at the pie fiasco 'South Stand show us your pies' and 'get your pies
out for the lads' which made a few smile
To me it just shows how out of touch Waccoe is compared to match going fans -
66% of voters on there claimed they were going to leave their seats and I think
more voted to leave on there than actually did!

The Star and Shafter (Garter) is next door to the Duke's too. Used to be kind
of crap but right on the river. The Half Moon is down the Lower Richmond Road a
bit. Eight Bells right near Putney Bridge tube station was also ok once. Cannot
vouch for any of these any more though.

Got hammered in the Brick many times.

The Bricklayers Arms was the pub of choice last year but when I got there,
around 14:30, it was closed but not closed down. There were no times in the
window to say when it would open.

Looks like it opens at 16:00, I have emailed them to check. Maybe start in the
Duke's head and take it from there :-)

Hi Pete have you tried Tunein?

I am not outside UK now but I use it for certain stations when in the US

Also you can get this for €4.97 (10 Day trial) which I know works.

Anyone not in the UK getting live commentary from the First Test between ENG

Links would be even better

What's the difference?

In fairness I did temper my optimism last week with comments like 'this could
be as good as it gets - ie these players may be better BEFORE we see them play

I have also said hopefully - I like Brian and genuinely think (thought?) he
was the man for the job and going to be the new Wilko

It is weird in that I am always optimistic etc on here but when I go to a game
I never actually expect us to win

I do like the way that Brian has been willing to change things - we have gone
442, then when that failed the diamond and then when that started to go wrong,
the 3 at the back, and now that has been found out he went with the 2 wingers
at Sheffield (albeit it was a disaster) - compare this to Warnock for example
who did the same every game irrespective of how it was working or not working

As Ross McCormack pointed out it is players who matter and not formations and
as we all know a number of our players are just not good enough or not good
enough often enough. There are doubts over all the players Brian has brought in
but given that, Murphy apart, they have all been out of contract, freebies or
loanees it is hard to know how much to blame he is.

I do stick by my original post - I think that Brian is under pressure and the
next 3 games could be the end of him (or hopefully -that word again-) the
making of him

Dave
