I have to say the performance was amazing.
But what has surprised me most this season - so far anyway, has been that 5 of 
the most important players from last year have gone, and so far the team has 
looked as good as it did at its best last year.

On the face of it we should be really missing Green, Bartley, Taylor, Bridcut 
and Wood but because of a huge improvement in O'Kane, Phillips and Cooper 
allied to the amazing starts made by Alioski and  Saiz.  The team has not 
really suffered up to now.  Is it a bit much to expect the improvements to 
O'Kane, , Phillips and Cooper to last all season?

As for new arrivals TC has intimated that he does not really need a new C. 
Back.  He may just be deflecting  of course.   I'm not sure that Pennington 
will be as strong as Bartley, but adding Shaughnessy as  a 'developing'  player 
has helped the numbers.

I think Ekuban and Grot were signed as improvements/potential over Doukara and 
Antonnson, so I imagine a more experienced Wood replacement is on the cards.

In midfield Klich gives the option of more physical presence in an area where 
they were all midgets last year and Anita is capable of doing anything Bridcut 
could, as well as being an excellent right back, and a decent left back too.

I hope Dallas stays, as he looks sharper and quicker this year.  Perhaps his 
exploits in the Euros affected him last season.  He is certainly above Sacko in 
the pecking order right now, who looked  pretty shocking in his cameos.

Looking forward to the next round of games already, with Berardi and Pennington 
coming back to add a bit of cover in defence.

Funny, the thing that struck me about Grot was how good his touch was (the 
whole "good touch for a big man" cliche, I suppose). To me, he seemed very 
nimble with the ball at his feet.


I thought yesterday's performance was superb. My only concerns remain that we 
look a little lightweight in midfield and attack, although we didn't get 
outmuscled in those areas yesterday as often as we had in previous games, and 
that sometimes the obsession with passing means players don't take shots when 
they should (on the flip side of that, however, both Aliosi and, especially, 
Saiz, opted to shoot yesterday when there were better options). 


All in all, a terrific start to the seaspn when you consider how new so many of 
the players are. If things go on like this, the Football League will be forced 
to discover some fictitious financial irregularity in order to dock us points.

Got to agree with all the praise that the list gave over yesterdays 
performance. Things really are looking good. Let's hope the break does not stop 
our momentum, since with two home games against Brum and Burton (club doing a

we have not missed the brilliant Berardi at all. OK Felix has had little to do 
- one shot saved yesterday - but has been part of a defence that has kept 4 
clean sheets on the spin. He comes out to stop attacks before they get a chance 
to shoot and his quick distribution has been a real feature of his play. 
Pennington looks like he will be fine, Ekuban and Grot are both 'ones for the 
future' and ones who will improveTC has also brought the best out of Cooper and 
Phillips - players whom the fans have been very critical of in the past - if 
they can do this the whole season things will be fineAs Prutton said on TV the 
solid box of four - Jansson, Cooper, O'Kane and Phillips- break up play and 
stop the other team and that allows the skillful players to get on the ball and 
do their stuff. Whilst one cross from Alioski yesterday was crying out for Wood 
to slide it home the use of Roofe upfront made us a lot more m
 obile and fluent and a lot harder to defend against. Things really are looking 
up and when you think we have our best youngster , Vieira, mainly stuck on the 
bench, and the option of the highly rated Klitch to come on, plus the 
rejuvenated Dallas, and the unpredictable but pacy Sacko ready to come on and 
make a difference - we look like we have strength in depth.We also have 
Pennington and Berardi ready to come back and fight for their places so 
competition will be fierceI must admit I was less impressed with Grot than many 
on here - I thought he looked cumbersome and very slow in thought and deed when 
he had the ball. He did manage a couple of headers and his turn against the (at 
the time) one legged Triaore did suggest he may be Ok in time. But that is 
nit-picking -the whole performance was excellent and to me, was summed up in 
the number of players who surrounded the ball and smothered it when their 
number 10 chipped it over one of ours and then skinned Ayling and went on the 
cha
 rge, his ball through to Murphy was good but the swarm of black shirts meant 
that Murphys touch had to be spot on and it was'nt so we scramble the ball away 
- brilliant teamwork. We do seem to have the work ethic from front to back, 
with plenty of skill to complement it, we are a team that is starting to be

What a time to be alive!

The best thing about Saiz and Alioski is you would never guess they have never 
played a match together before this month. ‎ Their instinctive understanding 
and link up can't be taught. 

I know he missed a couple of chances, but also like the look of Dallas. He 
looks much fresher and direct than last season when he comes on.

I don't always agree with Rob but tonight I would agree - 10 for everyone 
(maybe 9 for Hernandez and Cooper)
I'd also say I am a wanker for my criticism of Kalvin Philips - local lad and 
that tackle for the 2nd goal was one of the best I've seen for years. He's got 
his limitations but in this team , with this style of play he's doing a bloody 
great job. 
I'm just fucking elated to be honest, the most excited I've been watching Leeds 
for many a year - I had my two daughters around the tv signing MOT - the 
exciting counter attacking football is just great to watch. No big lump of Wood 
up front.
Saiz is a nast little c*nt but he's a class above and a player we've been 
crying out for years .Allioski had a bloody good left back against him today 
but he was just too good and the Forest lad was absolutely cramped up to fuck 
by the end. 
At the back, apart from Coopers antics at times we look solid and comfortable - 
you never feel there's much worry and I don't think any Leeds fans could say 
that over the last 10 years. I definitely credit Gary Monk for that but Thomas 
has taken it on. I'm reading on Twitter from Boro fans saying Monk's style is 
restrictive and not what they want. Of course it is. I actually think it;s what 
we needed but bloody hell that Thomas has come in and taken us to a new level.
I've downed a bottle of Gigondas (that's posh French wine for all you Leeds 
fuckers) during the match and I'm now about to start on some Bordeaux. Not sure 
I'm going to make the fight. 
As for the fight, I love boxing and have been a massive fan all my life. Here's 
my opinion ... Mayweather has beaten all before him and will beat McGregor - he 
aint a boxer but he is a fighter. Mayweather is old now and there's always a 
chance but I'd be surprised if he troubles him. Still intriguing though.
