In celebration of Refugee Week, come to the
  'WOMEN RESPECTING DIVERSITY' RALLY

The women of Victoria,
Irrespective of their race, religion, ethnicity and colour,
are working together to combat religious and racial intolerance
that proliferated since the New York tragedy.

Defend Multiculturalism
from  those who are determined to use the incident
to unleash their anti-Muslim and anti-Arab sentiments.


When:   Sunday October 14, 2001
Time:   11:30 am to 2:30 pm (official start at 12 noon)
Where:  Steps of the Victorian Parliament (top of Bourke Street, City), and
afterwards in the Treasury Gardens nearby.
What:   Short speeches from diverse women, enjoy some music/entertainment,
then BYO picnic.


Show your solidarity and support by
wearing green, white or purple symbolising women for peace and harmony.

LL:DDV: 'Nothing on a Plate' launch

The Union of Australian Women invites you to the launch of NOTHING ON A 
PLATE Celebrating Women's Journey Towards Equity in Victoria, 1901 -2001,A 
travelling photographic exhibition. The exhibition celebrates and 
commemorates Australia's Centenary of Federation by highlighting the 
contribution of women to the nation - their energy, commitment, 
intelligence, spirit  sense of community. Nothing on a Plate will be 
launched on Saturday August 4, at 2.30 p.m. at the NIBS Gallery, Trades 
Hall, Carlton,by Pamela Curr (FairWear Campaign).

The exhibition has been curated by Morag Loh. There are five themes dealing
with women's campaigns from the time of Federation:

Women as Citizens
Women as Workers
Women  Living Standards
Women  Children
Women, War  Peace.

The exhibition can be borrowed by schools, libraries, and other groups. It 
comes in 2 easily portable boxes containing 21 mounted images, text boards 
 captions, an 8 page catalogue essay and set of questions for discussion.
