I just realized I could fab up a rotary table from the 10" 2x duplex gear and
a smaller gear.

maybe get some bevel gears from a radial arm saw height winder to transfer the
handle motion to the table.

Re: old 900

2023-01-05 Thread Tom B.C. Canada
I think you're right Bill, it seems to be the closest even though it says
the 800 should have a MT2 head.
almost 12" between frame rails and 8&1/2" between bed rails. Y axis rails
are 15&1/2" long.
has tapering capacity. the tail is about 3/8" threaded rod. The index hub
is welded to the 3/4" head shaft.
Thanks for the head link Curt...might go that route.

Thank you Curt and Bill.

Maybe I don't have a 900, maybe it's another model ??

Curt I don't think your tail mod will work on this but I appreciate the pics.

There seems to be no provision for a Y scale so I'll have to improvise.

I'm thinking of doing major mods to this unit.

Hello TomI have not seen your headstock and tail before on a Legacy. But I do
know/think that a De-sta-co push/pull clamp and a MT2 adaptor would work on
your tailstock if you choose to do so.Here is the link to my headstock mod.
